Mikhael222
I had an idea while watching the Railjack segment of the 32 minute gameplay demo, and I want to see what you guys think. When the Tenno on board is working with the Tenno that is raiding the enemy ship, wouldn't it be fun if s/he not only hacked the turrets, but remote-controlled them? This is a screenshot from the demo: Here is a screenshot from the game Call of Duty Black Ops II that gives an idea of what this could look like. In the mission Odysseus, the player hacks a turret to take out the soldiers. If the Tenno on board could do something similar, I think it would be really neat and much more exciting than just moving controls on a computer. Koldraxon-732
There is a Corpus Sniper UI which would fit a hijacked Corpus turret rather well, but then again what if the person back on the ship had to move the ship so the gunner can get a better line of fire on attacking hostiles? It's assumed that this step of hacking the turret and eliminating the opposition would only take 10ish seconds. Perhaps it could be an option to assume direct control of the turret after rewriting it's target list? To expand that, hijacking Bursas and other Proxies needs to become a thing, with a subtle reference to Harbinger when Ordis is left to control them sometimes having him say "I have assumed control of this form." That person doing the hacking was also, at least in the demo, piloting the ship. Your ship is still under fire. Probably open to more boarding parties. If you wanted to be part of the action on the other ship, then go to the other ship.

Admittedly, they were running at least one short on the crew, a Tenno team tends to be four and they were three. That'd be Pilot, Gunner, Engineer and Boarder all covered, though, meaning the Engineer would be the one doing the hacking and firefighting. My point being, whoever is remote controlling that turret isn't able to do something else. It just adds a level of complexity to the design that doesn't seem to fit the goal. Even if there was a limited crew, the idea is that the hacking would take only a short time. After the yellow circle on the UI completes its rotation (indicating a full hack), the on board hacker would gain access to the turret and temporarily view through its camera. The turret could be made strong enough so that the player can take out the enemy units in roughly 10 seconds or less. It's certainly more fun and interactive than hacking a computer and letting the turret AI do all the work.
