  1. You're like "Yo, got a good idea, here's why.". They're like "Nah, not really, here's why". And you're like "Stop being dumb and buy servers". I don't know how to tell you this, but, nobody asked.. what do you know, turns out I do know how to tell you that. It should be alarming how easily duped you are by your own bias' revisionist's history.
  2. Being apart of a society that seemingly only cares about convenience, playing the "less effort" bit off as a thing that doesn't really matter seems a bit naive. In fact, I'd argue that it's the less effort part specifically that makes Revenant the fan favorite it seems to be. Also, I think your team play standards are too high and playstyle too specific to really appreciate what Revenant can do. Try pub matches. Revenant is like one of the best all around team players. Keeping up mesmer skin up keeps the less apt players on their feet and doing things. When everyone inevitable forgets about the actual mission because they're more interested in RPing as murder-hobos, entrall is one of the best CC's around. The only real problem I run into with entrall is it doing too good of a job. Sometimes I'll find myself wanting to CC a different area after the objective moves but can't because my horde is too busy distracting enemies on the otherside of the map. Being able to cancel it so that you could recast it would be nice, but otherwise I find it's functionality pretty useful. Reave I think I've only productively used to race other frames to the end of the mission while relic farming and the dance, well, I've used it enough to know it looks cool. You could do whatever to those and I wouldn't mind, but I'd prefer the current functionality of entrall to remain as it is.
  3. Homie, you're trying to turn this into a debate about whether or not DE is lazy and it isn't that, never was, and as far as my part in this goes, never will be. Reread my reply to you and notice how I never claimed anything in regard to whether or not they are lazy. To me, pointing out someone is lazy is like pointing out that they're breathing. There's no point to it. You don't need to convince me DE is lazy, I know. Just like you, me, and every other person out there. Doubt that? Just consider that there's always a limited amount of things we do and an infinite amount of things that we don't do. Oh wow, you found a thing they didn't do in a sea of infinite things they could have done but didn't, whoopty-freakin-do, here's a metaphorical cookie for ya. For your own mental well-being I hope you weren't expecting to get anything more than that for making those arguments because I feel like that's about it. In fact, I hope you weren't even expecting that much because really, how many guys are out there handing out metaphorical cookies to people who point out obvious things? Considering I can't recall coming across any, I don't think it can be all too many. But, you're not actually trying to convince people DE is lazy here, you're trying to convince people that you were justified in making your claim and as such, were not trying to bully them into giving you what you want. In this regard, I believe there is a distinction here you are failing to make. Bullying isn't about what's being claimed, it's about what's being ignored and, ultimately, why it's being ignored. In your classic schoolyard bully scenario, what's being ignored by the bully are the emotional and/or physical well-being of their victim and the reason why is because they are distracting themselves and others from their own insecurities, typically speaking. I said you were "essentially" bullying people (I did say DE in my original reply but I'm retconning that because, realistically speaking, you're not talking to DE, you're not trying to convince DE, it's not DE that is suffering your ignorance. DE gets 100's of millions of examples each and every year showing them that they're right and the players that disagree with them are wrong... man, what I wouldn't give for an echo-chamber full of money instead of the ones full of broke-ass people plagued by bitterness the rest of us get stuck with. How nice that must be.) by disregarding the points they made when you all said in response to them was "they r lazy cuz they don't by servers". The why you did this is because you got in over your head and lacked the humility to own up to that. Instead of chomping down on a serving of humble pie, you decided to double down. This is you protecting yourself from the insecurity that maybe you don't actually know what you're talking about, that maybe you're wrong and maybe there are legitimate reasons for why DE didn't do the thing you wish they did. Don't worry bud, happens to the best of us. It's why the behavior is recognizable in the first place. You don't know what to do with servers after you've bought them, you don't understand the actual process the term "game development" describes, and you aren't speaking on behalf of the overall player base. These are assumptions that I, and I'm assuming the rest of the people who choose to dogpile on your blatant ignorance, feel safe in making. So far everything you've said only reinforces that sense of safety. Like, you're defense of "being unable to fix a door for 10 years is not lazy?" isn't convincing anybody that you actually know what you're talking about here. You provided zero insight into what it is you're taking into consideration when making your claims with your lazy attempts to convince people you've actually considered the things that were said to you. You're making a statement when you ignore something. The statement being that it isn't worth your consideration. Apply that to situations relating to working with people and that will "result in people not wanting to work with you". Oh hey, look at that, another thing you ignored in my reply to you.. a reply that consisted of only four whole sentences. That was the final sentence. Given the only thing I quoted from you, it was clearly the only point of me making my reply to you. If you don't care enough about that point to even acknowledge it, then why bother replying to me at all?.. Because your spiraling out of control. Got yourself backed into a corner and instead of allowing yourself a way out by being reasonable, you wildly attack anything that comes close like some feral beast. Nothing more pitiful than a feral beast. A living being in desperate need of help but is unable to receive it because of how they perceive the act. Moral of the story, people say things for reasons. If you can't take the things they say and the reasons they say it seriously then you can't rightfully expect others to take you seriously. So, instead of meaningful conversation, what you get are people with nothing better to do other than to amuse themselves by spewing verbal diarrhea in your general direction. I mean, why wouldn't they, you already did it to them. Ofcourse, now not only is everyone full of crap but we're all covered in it too so that's cool. Not pleasant, but feels more complete ya know? Well, that's one half of a day down. Spose I'll go fire up Warframe to kill off the other half.
  4. Because you're only seeing things from your perspective. Instead of trying to see if from the Devs perspective you write them off as being lazy. Doing so means you don't actually have to consider things that would lead to you not getting what you want. You're essentially trying to bully DE into giving you what you want. People don't like to be bullied so the way you're behaving will, most likely, only result in people not wanting to work with you.
  5. I was playing a SP circuit all by my lonesome when I noticed there was one lone enemy hiding from me somewhere, which is fairly common, seems to be at least one that gets caught up in the environment in some way. What wasn't common was the location this enemy choose to hide. Took me a minute but I eventually found him all the way at the bottom of the map: Unfortunately for me, I had an ignis wraith, twin vipers, and boltace, of which, only had some kind of a build for the boltace. Killing a strong enemy at this distance, it was impossible for me. I did try. Unloaded all the ammo of the viper into it, even refilling my ammo pool 3-4 times with the boxes scattered around the defensive point. I couldn't slam attack it with my boltace since the point at which the map respawns you is above where homie is chillin'. I did figure out that if I jumped off I could get a couple ticks of damage in with the ignis before getting respawned: Buuut, it just wasn't enough. I was hoping that some timer would go off that would trigger the next wave since that's happened before when I've stalled an enemy to allow for shield/health regen on the target, but that didn't seem to happen. Ended up having to abort the mission.
  6. I've definitely felt that in the SP circuit. I almost always get a good frame OR a good weapon but a bit too rare (for my liking) to get both. So when ya finally do get your top-tier loadout and everyone wants to bug out after a round or two, that especially hurts because you can't just restart, you gotta wait until you get that god-tier loadout again. To be fair, I think they hot fixed that specific host migration issue from ruining games so that might not be as bad anymore. I'm not sure though because after having a couple arbitrations bug out after choosing to stay behind, losing out on a boatload of vitus among other things, followed up by the Duviri debacle, I lost the taste for testing the fates when it comes to staying behind when the host chooses to leave. So yeah, the idea of being able to pick how long you want to go, either through a time limit or even a level cap would be real nice. Though I think the more specific/more options you get the further away being able to reasonably match people up. It would be interesting, if starting out simple with two polarizing playstyles worked, slowly adding in options to see how far we could take it before it'd become problematic. I, like you, and many others, have also ended up at the conclusion that solo is typically the way to go. I play the majority of content solo with only a few exceptions. Its just for those few exceptions it'd be really nice to have some options available. Which is what made me curious what people who spend more time in pub matches thought about it, and if they liked it, what kind of options they would like to see. Get a bit of insight into the playstyles they found problematic to the kind of playstyle they preferred.
  7. They were most likely farming intrinsics. If you just want the pathos clamps play The Lone Story. It's basically the same thing as The Duviri Experience just without all the side objectives so if you hop into a public match in The Lone Story, whoever you end up getting matched with won't have the side-objectives to get distracted by.
  8. Verbatim? No. Heavily implied to the point where they act as if it ends the conversation, abso-freaking-lutely. Nobody made that claim. If they had, I would have argued it because that is a silly claim to make. If you want to retcon it then here's my reply for that "I'm failing to understand why the only option available to implement a better match-making system is one that can't be implemented, and if it by some miracle it was implemented, it would only be implemented in a way nobody would actually care for." You guys are hung up on something that's messing with your perspectives. As you pointed out, I've been playing Warframe for about as long as DE has been developing it. I've witnessed and experienced the full evolution of this game's development. I understand the trauma you all experienced that makes as cynical as you are. But you need to realize something, you are only traumatized because somewhere along the line you believed Warframe was a community-driven game. Somewhere along the line you believed DE actually cares about the player experience, wanting to make it the best experience they could possibly make it. Bought into the narrative they created with their livestreams, support for content creators, and these very forums. The trauma comes from the reality checks that end up feeling like gut-punches. I can tell you, as someone who's experienced it all, IF there was ever a point where the player experience meant something more to them other than showing them the line they need to tow in order to milk their player base for all they could, it ended before the founder's program did when it became clear to them what a massive cash cow they had. I know, a lot of assuming going on here, but this is what makes sense to me when trying to understand why you people behave the way that you do. Why you all would come into a thread answering questions that were never asked, creating arguments and debates that serve no purpose. Let me explain to you what this thread is. It is a thread of a player sharing their experience, problems that arose from that experience, and a possible solution to said problems. That is explicit. What isn't explicit is my expectation that the replies I would get would be about others' experiences, whether or not they found the problem relatable, and/or whether or not they thought the solution I purposed would actually solve the problem. You could argue that was my bad for not being explicit in those expectations but I'd argue you're being ridiculous considering the only thing of value we, as players, have to share is our subjective perspectives of the experiences we've had. The one thing none of you actually shared (except for maybe that one guy who hallucinated a question mark at the end of the title thinking I was asking how would you go about making the match-making better). As per usual, you people continue to be nothing but a massive disappointment. Which, I'm sure, is a thing you could care less about. But, despite that, I still feel as if it's a thing that should be shared in order to make me feel a little bit better about not abandoning you all completely to your delusions of grandeur.
  9. Good to know. That's the thing about it, outside of leveling stuff and gathering resources to obtain more stuff to level, I don't know what's left of the game to play. I get that some enjoy getting the biggest numbers they can but I lose interest pretty quick once I hit the 'good enough' point. I'm just too simple to find enjoyment in min-maxing. Makes my brain tired. So I'm not all too interested in the most efficient way to play the game. If I can get a good enough team, in that most stay with affinity range for the majority of the time, it takes maybe 15 - 20 minutes to level three weapons and half a frame. That's certainly not the best, but it's good enough for me. I know this seems relevant because it has to do with matching but it would seem that the reason this particular attempt didn't work is directly related the toggles that were chosen which would suggest different toggles would yield different results. The big difference between my idea and that one is I can easily see someone just wanting to make the blanket statement of "I don't want the responsibility of lagging everyone out and having them be upset at me about it". So with those specific toggles it seems like a set it and forget it sort of thing. The toggles I suggested would be more "what do I want to do for this specific mission/for this specific goal." which I imagine would yield different results. Even if it was as you all fear, it would still fail for different reasons than why the other toggles failed which I think would be worth noting. I know you implied other attempts at refining match-making but without specifics, it's hard to process that information in a useful way. But maybe that's just because I don't think having a refined match-making system is impossible, just that how to go about doing it hasn't been figured out yet.
  10. Three reasons, one of which may or may not be applicable. First and foremost, I don't play video games so that I don't have to play them. Going into a mission and going afk for however long seems to defeat the purpose of keeping busy despite it being the most efficient way to achieve certain things. Second, I might not specifically be going into a mission to collect resources but I still like collecting them. I like having a bank of resources to use for whenever I need them. I also get the benefit of getting other weapons I'm not using leveled up at the same. So much MR fodder I've leveled up this way without ever having to use them a single time which, for me, is great. Leveling stuff in dark sector just checks more boxes for me. Third, this I'm not sure how applicable it is because I could very well not be understanding how things work, but it seems to me that if I want to make full use of the affinity bonus I'm getting from the dark sector and the melee affinity bonus I get from the naramon school I would have to be killing dudes with my melee weapon. As far as and the unpopulated servers go, I would think having these choices as optional, leaving things the way they are as the default, would keep the status quo mostly as it it. The idea wasn't meant to change the game, just add a quality of life feature. I didn't say "I don't believe you" to Chewy because I found what they said so unbelievable. I said that to give them an opportunity to explain themselves and, you know, be a part of an actual conversation. Problems will exist no matter what you do. That's the consequence of nothing being perfect. Completely disregarding an idea because you went and thunk up a potential flaw with it isn't at all valuable in the context of making things better.
  11. Yeah, true. Just not much point is sharing ideas and perspectives with anyone I guess.
  12. I don't think we're playing the same game. It's pretty rare for me to go into a public match making and not end up with a full squad. Even during the times when someone leaves at the start, their spot usually gets filled up. Considering your opinion is completely reliant on your assumption that most public nodes are dead being true, it's hard to find value in anything you said.
  13. Ah, so that's what recruit chat is for.. now that I'm aware, I still think what I do.
