  1. I'm tired of Grineer Manics just turning invincible after triggering a health gate, and I've had times (often in ESO where some zones guarantee several Manic spawns) where I was basically forced to ignore them because of the other enemies around me. When 3+ Manics surround me in all directions, some of which are invincible/cloaking and others that aren't, I eventually end up being killed with a finisher.

The Manic is one example of what I think is a poorly designed enemy, mechanically. You don't force a player to ignore a mob enemy because they have invincibility phases, but then also give them the ability to 100% guarantee kill you, on most frames, when you do ignore them. One Manic shouldn't really be a problem unless I just don't pay attention, but several is far from fun to play against (try fighting 20 level 100+ Manics at once with a frame that doesn't have extremely spammable CC). Honestly, even though the finisher attack, if initiated, almost cannot be prevented from killing you (unless you have anti-death abilities like Nidus' passive or Phoenix Renewal), it's not even all that bad a mechanic since there is some level of counterplay that can prevent them. I really think the invincibility portion of Manics is what hinders the counterplay to their finisher attacks, and that portion of this enemy's game mechanics should probably be removed (or replaced with something else).

All other enemies of "similar difficulty" like Bursas, Noxes, and Scrambus all have proper counterplay, often revolving around shooting their weak spots. Manic invincibility cannot be broken with counterplay; waiting is not counterplay, since the act of waiting is basically not playing the game. In a game whose overwhelming majority of missions are mob-based, being forced to ignore extremely agile and player-insta-killable enemies is not good game design. Squishy frames are in a pretty rough spot in public matchmaking because there are so few things they can do to stay alive at high levels already; there is no way I can just stare at the Manic and wait for it to uncloak if a nearby level 120 Heavy Gunner is firing at me, I will have to face her and turn away from the Manic.

However, I wouldn't mind some waiting mechanics on well-designed bosses that warrant them, like the relatively short phase changes in Tyl Regor's fight for example. Manics are not bosses, they are mob enemies, albeit usually very uncommon ones.

Had to get this off my chest. Invincibility in general should be kept at a minimum in shooters, but if they HAVE to be implemented to make high level Warframe reasonably difficult, please allow us to actively counter the mechanic instead of forcing us to wait for it to wear off. It's for this reason that Vay Hek, Sargas Ruk, and Lech Kril are currently probably the most hated bosses in the game: excessive forced waiting.

That would set a stupid precedent for a lot of abilities.

Just fix the charged throw mechanic instead of demandimg brand new coding.

An overwhelming amount of buff abilities cannot be opted out of unless you deliberately fall off the map, so I don't really see much precedence in adding a cooldown mechanic onto an ability that does have a more direct opt-out function.

That said, though, I do agree that it's probably better to just fix the charged throw mechanic to remain functional under Volt's buff influence.

I like the mechanic. I don't want it to be changed. It makes the weapon rather unique. If there was no tracking then it would be just a worse Glaive Prime.
Just play carefully. And if you don't want to do that, then just keep killing yourself.

Is it too much to ask for enemy auto-targeting mechanics to stay closer to the player's aiming reticle? Not saying it has to completely go away, and tbh I don't actually think it'd be a worse Glaive Prime since there's still the "chain targeting" where it continues to home in on more enemies even after hitting one.

  4. Before Update 23.10, Volt's 2 only messed with the charge speed, so it was still possible (albeit difficult) to pull off charge throws. Now, if the speed buff is strong enough, you won't be able to deliver a charge throw at all. Maybe random Volts are just trying to be decent teammates, but whenever I try to backflip out of a speed buff, they always come around me and apply another "buff" onto me, and dual-wielded pistol+glaive in general just ends up becoming nigh unusable.

I see two solutions to this: either add a cooldown so that Volts cannot add another speed buff to teammates that have opted out (duration of this cooldown could be 100% of ability's duration), or fix the charge throws so that being buffed with Volt won't prevent me from throwing my glaive strongly.

NOTE: Valkyr's Warcry and Harrow's Penance may also have similar negative effects.

  5. It's actually quite difficult to use it when it seldom flies straight and instead veers wildly to the side because it's "smart" enough to seek nearby enemies. Many a time I've killed myself because I'd try to detonate it but miscalculate its position and it explodes basically in my face. No, Cautious Shot is not a valid solution -.-

I've tried to hotfix it with various ranks of Whirlwind, but after a certain point, it has led to Falcor just wildly near-missing enemies; weaker Whirlwinds did nothing to fix the problem in the first place. I'd like for Falcor to try to fly straighter so it's a bit more in control, please and thanks!

P.S. Also, give the Orvius some love and return its shattering sound on throw explosion. Right now, it's degraded into a generic explosion that does not represent at all its innate cold damage.

When Explosive weapons used to be exceptionally good, Frost bubbles annoyed tf out of me. It truly destroyed my enjoyment seeing a ****er put up a Snowglobe in front of me and then killing me outright because I was using an explosive weapon on a target and it ricochets back to me OHKOing me. Not to mention Snowglobes littered all over the damn map can really be a huge deterrent for explosive gunplay that it was literally cancerous to be matched up with a Frost in PuG matches.

Since Saryn 2.0 and maining her since that first iteration, or since Saryn Prime’s entry into the Warframeverse, I have made it a goal to make Frosts feel illegitimate in-game. Useless. Keep using your Snowglobes. Be that bubble boy. I’ll just kill everything on the map so that you can stay still and camp.

That vengeance, my rancor for Frosts knows no boundaries. Still to this day my hatred for them is still unsettled.

If you PuG with me as a Frost on PS4, let it be known that I will do all that I can in-game that you’ll barely lay a finger on an enemy.

Ironic that I find Frost far more tolerable in radiation hazard and Void missions because I can self-proc radiation and completely destroy their bubbles. To me, the worst Frost is actually one that plops Snow Globes everywhere and *doesn't* use them, because that means he has no idea what he's doing and isn't even using his own misplaced Snow Globes (so they're always guaranteed to stay and be forgotten).

Chilling globe says hi. Against infested I go with a slightly larger bubble and just freeze them on contact. You don't need to strip armour or withstand gunfire so no need for power strength. With max duration and efficiency and some range you can spam avalanche added with chilling globe and they will never reach the defense objective or extractor. At higher enemy levels it gives your team longer to deal with them. Though I will admit Nova is better for this, in a pub group that's not a guarantee.

The thing is, just cos a different frame does it better, does not mean somebody must use it and forsake the other one just because other players think they should.

That's nice, but remember that randoms aren't as well-versed on gear, mods, and strategy. You've just admitted it yourself. There are ways to use Frost right against Infested, sure, but it's easier to use him wrong, intentionally or not. I'm not asking to ban Frost by any means, but I'm asking for ways to make Snow Globe harder to misuse for trolling/team sabotage.

See, it's you and your silly guns that are making it an issue. If you just melee'd, you'd love Limbos and Frosts, like I do.

I like to play Inaros, and Inaros can keep himself alive no problem... but when you need to defend something, Limbo and Frost are fantastic team members for me and my play style.

Forced melee in Interception? I hope you're joking...

Interception is heavily centered around CC, since you don't defend objectives from attacks, but rather prevent enemies from accessing certain locations. Because Interception has four such objectives (8 if you count the two consoles per objective) placed apart, guns are far more efficient than melee.

What's unclear to me is why Snowglobe spam is so popular against Infested, who mostly refrain from projectile attack. Snowglobe is then next to useless barring the augment, and even then it's more effective to use Freeze or Avalanche for CC. Maybe it's for psychological comfort. "I'm in the bubble, I'm safe."

I can't agree more with this. People try to come up with every argument possible to attempt to justify using Snow Globe against Infested in any mission. It is simply inferior in every way to other Warframe abilities that are dedicated to map-wide slowing (i.e. Nova's 4) or stopping enemies outright (i.e. Vauban's 3). Snow Globe's only real strength is the bulletproof nature and its semi-infinite duration. It does nothing to actually stop enemies from reaching an area, and its 50% slow is overrated when compared to the 75% slow cap of most other slowing abilities (FYI 75% slow is effectively the same as stacking two 50% slows, multiplicatively).

There is nothing you can do other than go something like Maim Equinox to ignore the bubble, or troll Frost.

    People are just stupid.

And I wish the non-stupid people playing Frost took less time lecturing me how to play as Frost (sike, I don't play him at all) on the forums whenever I complain about *other* Frosts playing poorly/trolly. It's all a big headache, and I'm tired of being downvoted for what shouldn't even be controversial. Frost is polarizing, either making or breaking the whole team in an Infested mission. There's no buts about that.

  11. Over time, I've met many Frosts while solo queuing in public matches. Although I usually don't run into problems in most missions, conflict almost inevitably arises when against Infested. I've made many complaints throughout my Warframe career of Frosts misplacing Snow Globes (especially lining them up in a row), but for some reason, regardless if it's here on Warframe Forums or on the subreddit, I keep getting lectured on how to use Frost right as if I'm the one responsible for not having fun. It really gets at my nerves because how am I supposed to play a frame that I don't play??? I have no power over what a teammate does, and because I believe in peoples' freedoms, I'd like for it to stay that way, but in a normal mission, if a teammate makes mistakes, he shouldn't negatively affect the whole team.

A bad Frost build in tight tilesets like Grineer Galleon (i.e. Hydron) can easily break a team as I see my teammates constantly die, sometimes including the bad Frost himself. Even if the missions themselves almost never fail, the experience often ends up being very unpleasant, what with all the toxic clouds, tars, swarms, and auras the Infested are notorious for. I often enjoy playing squishy frames with guns, and misplaced Snow Globes directly hinder this type of playstyle; Snow Globes are too small for me to stay inside safely, and energy hungry builds with Arcane Energize, by design, require me to scavenge all over the map for Energy Orbs, anyway. I understand that there are Frost mains out there who really do know what they're doing and who do know how to not ruin others' experiences. However, not everyone is gonna look up how to play Frost online. I don't know of a good solution to altering Snow Globe itself, but I hope that people at least become more aware of this issue.

  12. A common error. What is abnormal in my case, though, is the fact that the OK button that appears cannot be clicked on. In fact, nothing can be clicked on; the cursor disappears entirely. It's not even invisible, it just doesn't exist and completely loses functionality. The regular mouse cursor gets restored upon exiting the game, so it is not my PC causing the bug.

Awe... was excited for a minute.

I have archwing stuff to level.

Lol sorry for the false alarm. But seriously, after having completely spent my Forma throughout the affinity boosters I redeemed, I just have no more use for this one that mysteriously got activated today.

  14. 4 minutes ago, EDM774 said:

Did you redeem the humble bundle daedalic bundle for Warframe? It has a 3 day affinity and resource booster in it

Got that and it had expired, too. The last few hours of my latest redeemed booster expired last night, started my play session today with the usual sortie run, and ended up with both a melee riven mod and 2 days 23 hours of this mystery affinity booster.

  15. 3 minutes ago, Alcatraz said:

Was it from sorties? Or did you redeem OLDFRIEND? It has affinity booster attached.

Already used my OLDFRIEND code sometime last week, long expired. Now I'm super curious, did the game lie to me and say I got a melee riven but I got an affinity booster instead?

EDIT: Just checked, I did get my melee riven mod (still veiled). So I really got a 3 day affinity booster out of nowhere...?

  16. I've just noticed that I have an active 3 day affinity booster, but I got a melee riven mod in today's sortie. Was there a double XP weekend announcement that I missed?

UPDATE: I AM SO STUPID. It was my 250 day login bonus LOL

Turbulence shield radius is affected by ability range. If I recall correctly, if Zephyr has less than 100% ability range, Zephyr (and sentinels, for that matter) may not be 100% protected against projectiles, which could be the reason why a Scrambus is able to harm her on occasions.

Does your Zephyr have less than 100% ability range? That may be the reason.

It does, but it's odd. As long as an enemy shooter isn't close to me, all non-explosive projectiles do bend enough to miss me, including beam weapons. The only exception is the Scrambus shotgun, which just doesn't work regardless of range.

  18. There are distinctly 5 visible bullets in the revolver cylinder of the Rubico. Under normal circumstances, if one bullet is fired, the cylinder rotates, and an empty hole in the cylinder is visible where the fired bullet was. When aiming down sights, though, all holes in the cylinder become "filled" again, even without firing or reloading. If half-aiming (quick clicking on the aim button, aim is set to HOLD and not TOGGLE in settings) to where the camera zooms in but the scope visuals don't appear, the empty parts of the cylinder do not fill.

This bug does not affect gameplay, and so there aren't actually extra bullets being returned to the mag. This is purely visual.
