  1. Excalibur codex "The Sentients had won. They had turned our weapons, our technology, against us... In our desperation we turned to the Void"

The Void is the source of whatever made the Tenno work against the sentients, The Mag Prime entry refers to "Void Shields" which are mist likely the shields we have now, that is normal shields, powered by the Void energy throwing through the Tenno. Where the non-tenno soldiers get "Zero tech" suits, AKA suits with zero tech in them.

I don't see that there is any other explanation why the Warframe tech is immune to sentient control, the only thing mentioned is the void energy.

I was thinking about this and may be on to something. Granted we don't know what the Sentients turned agains the orokin but I suspect it was something to do with nueral sentries. In order for a weapon to be turned against someone it has to be a) literally stolen and used against them or b) involve control systems which are forcfully seized. For A this kind of thing happens all the time but I don't feel it's the kind of thing that would lead to widespread superiority it's more used to level the playing field so I lean towards B. I've always viewed the Tenno as a power source for the frames in terms of their interaction. The frames being the "conduit for their affliction" but in another way the Tenno are also the control system. By that notion the Sentients wouldn't have an effect on them because there was nothing within their ability to seize control of. For this reason the Orokin wouldn't have been able to impliment any control or fail safes because that would just be the same as everything else they had tried that was turned against them.

I don't think there's anything in there that breaks established lore.

  2. My degree is in business...

Lol its a bad business model for DE and for people who have things to trade

No reason people should have things for price that they are at now.

My crystal ball says that you're a butthurt, cheap fan boy that hurried and posted in this thread for the above reasons

Yeah well I did my doctoral thesis on online in game economies as a reflection and reinforcement of real world ecomic observance, and you are a doody head.

Economics degree trumps buisness, they teach you how to effectively screw up what we got right and spelled out for you.

Just playing the game on your level.

  3. OK what the hell!? Am I the only one who wonna to say thank you?

    Really am I ?!

I think it gets harder and harder not to sell warframe because of such negativ guys like you and thats for all of the whinger out there!

Hey its a gift! A GIFT!

    I´m gonna puke for real....

For what it's worth I agree with you. I have long hoped the machete would return, granted its for mastery reasons but that's still legit in my book and I am greatful. What I really want though, is machete wraith to come back. I accidentally sold mine while I was clearing out weapons and it took me longer than 30 days to notice so help desk said they couldn't help. Maybe it will happen maybe it won't *sniff*

  4. Why? So the people who own things we can never get can rub them in our faces, while all we can do is show our weak little black and blue yomo syandana?

I guess the bigger question is why do you care so much? No one would "rub your faces in it" if you didn't get upset and make it fun for them. Not that I oppose the over all decision in any way I'm just saying.

  5. One thing I would like to see that isn't a new weapon per-se is to divide the dual cleavers, dual Kama, and those infested ones whose name I can never remeber back out and give them unique stances again. If I recall correctly pre u13 those three had different animations than the dual swords.

  6. I would like to see an infested claw/whip hybrid that has short but quick combo to kill quickly that are basic claw attacks and a longer but slower combo to hit enemies out of reach from the short attacks by having the claws stretch out for wider slashes.

The mios has the potential to be like this. So you may be closer to getting your wish than some of us.

  7. Abandon ye hope to any old PC player that would want to move to PS4.

Atleast those that want to keep their super-exclusives.

Eh I gave up the notion that it would be a good idea to do when I saw how the ps4 release schedule went. I've never once seen why the problem is such a big deal to be honest, but I had no stake in the solution so the one they have is as good as any.

  8. The melee in warframe may have be better than what has been done previously with "fps style controls" but it still is pretty bad. Well not that it's bad per say, but more like the stance system was extremely poorly executed. We were promised these mods that had all these cool combos and they wouldn't be hard to find and yet we get rare mods that drop from rare enemies and they have at most 2 or 3 combos, and e spams, wall attacks, spins, and jump attacks don't count.

The Ninja style combat could work. Make the game more around melee like ninja gaiden and have guns be weaker(strong enough to be useful but not the instagib all bad guys like we have now) and with autoaim, like the shurikens in ninja gaiden, and then with aiming just aim like when you use the bow in Ninja Gaiden. If you watch closely you can see how the player gets time to go to the "aim mode" with his bow and fire off a powerful shot or two before tearing everyone apart with melee.

And have the "pauses" and directional keys for combos is just atrocious. At the very least DE needs to map a new "heavy" attack to a new button such as R which isn't used in melee mode and make combos be actual combos of pressing the E and R key.

Just going to have to chalk it up to a difference of opinions. For one I find I can make the Melee work just fine. I've played all the ninja gaidens know how they work and can do so again should i choose. I want warframe to stay warframe not change it's core focus. There is no reason it should be anything but what the devs want to make.
  9. Actually the Lanka is a Coil gun, aka Gauss rifle.

Also, it really makes no sense that the weapon fires a slow laser projectile instead of being hitscan.

Ok agree with the second part.

Edit: found the difference between the two re writing to incorporate new info

Lots of people make this claim but no one has to my knowledge explained how you can tell the Lanka belongs to one category or another. We can't examine the workings, niether would really be distinguishable from a results standpoint, both fit the lore description. I don't get it.

  10. I personally want to see more katana-like weapons, but now that I think about it, a ninjatō would be sweet.

Until then, I've not used enough melee weapons in this game to properly decide (or wish) what ought to be implemented.

You keep being reasonable and levelheaded like that and they're gonna come take your interwebs liscense away.

  11. Why cant we simply wait for the frame to be released and see all the other powers it got.

Making assumptions about her usefullness without any proper knowledge is simply useless...

To take this a step further basing the idea that DE is running low on ideas from an image of a frame and a vague description of a single power is near certifiable lunacy.

Besides according to the forums every new frame, weapon, or feature that has ever been is useless. There's always going to be unhappy people and some of those are loudmouths that assume their opinion matters outside their heads.

  12. Only if it was finished in time.

Also I was curious and did some number crunching.

This is the longest we have been between major updates (All +Day counts are based from previous date and include the end day in count):

    Update 1: 26th OCT 2012

    Update 2: 29th OCT 2012 (+3 Days)

    Update 3: 30th OCT 2012 (+1 Day)

    Update 4: 03rd NOV 2012 (+4 Days)

    Update 5: 19th DEC 2012 (+47 Days)

    Update 6: 30th JAN 2013 (+43 Days)

    Update 7: 18th MAR 2013 (+48 Days)

    Update 8: 23rd MAY 2013 (+67 Days)

    Update 9: 13th JULY 2013 (+52 Days)

    Update 10: 14th SEP 2013 (+64 Days)

    Update 11: 21st NOV 2013 (+69 Days)

    Update 12: 06th FEB 2014 (+78 Days)

    Update 13: 10th APR 2014 (+64 Days)

    Update 14: ?????????? (+90 Days and counting)

We know U14 is not tomorrow (Go watch devstream #32 if you don't believe me). Earliest expected release of Update 14 is 16th of July (+98 days) and even this has not been confirmed by DE. Now it does have a few big changes to the game. However I am starting to feel this patch has been build up to much and wont deliver much. Ships and quest will be fun but short lived by vets (in my opinion from what we have seen so far, of course). Kubrows will be interesting based on how the "genetics" are going to work. However I worry on the lack of game-play changes and additions. We will have to wait and see sadly as no one knows.

Personally I would have preferred focus system or proxy wars over kubrows. Still don't understand why kubrows were pushed up in developer importance over end game content.

Proxy wars require the framework they are introducing in u14 (vor's prize) from what I can gather on the programing end it's a big deal. I wouldn't be surprised if it's what is actually holding things up. Either way they made it clear they are laying the foundations for the proxy wars with the update so there is that. For this reason I don't think kubrows were pushed above end game content but they knew how much work it was going to take to get the quest system functional and systemic so they had to provide something maybe a little not as difficult to build but a whole lot more shiny hence kubrows. Don't forget that the next iteration of the dark sectors is also coming.

When you take all that into account the update seems to be more about end game than kubrows actually. That and NUX which also remained a hot topic for a looooong time.

  13. If I knew how to quote across threads I'd show you the post where Rebecca says everything is being worked on by its own team, and saying that they're "focusing on unimportant things" is essentially meaningless because the UI team has no effect on the gameplay balance team.

People will never accept this. In the end it's often that they would prefer to fire those other teams and make the ones working on whatever it is they feel slighted about larger. Forgetting of course that those other teams are a necessity to have the game functional. That or they want everyone on the team to just drop everything and work on a single item, despite that some teams have specialties that don't really intersect with their pet issues and training specialists to work on new things would actually slow the process more than leaving things alone. At least this is the best I can figure out.

They want what they want done and they want it Yesterday. Reality doesn't even enter the picture.

  14. No, you only win internets if you know if that's the first, second or third actor to play him :|

    Miss that show q.q

That was the first and in my opinion the best. Tim curry also did a good job (second) and I don't recall the third but would have preferred either of the other two over him.
  15. They're very different. Watch the included video. Also that is how melee combat SHOULD be like in Warframe.

I'm not being sarcastic with any of this so please don't read it as such.

Picture if all the shooting in warframe was handled the same way as ninja gaiden, or even worse DMC.

Now see if you can find a game with Melee combat that plays out like ninja gaiden and has robust shooting mechanics.

(Seriously if you know of one share cause I want to play, even if it means I have to come back and admit you invalidated my entire premise but I'm pretty comfident that won't happen)

Judging historically there are inherent limitations to the two styles that are mutually exclusive. I find it very hard to articulate so someone else may be able to come along and do better but just looking at gameplay footage from some random shooter vs. some random hack and slash it becomes incredibly apparent to me that they won't play nice if you try to smoosh them together.

I think the Melee in warframe is better than has ever been done with fps style controls. I don't think we should belittle that achievement with pie in the sky "should be"s when so many other teams have tried to play both fields and ended up with poor examples for both styles of play. Deadpool comes immediately to mind as a particularly bad example of this.

  16. If you think it would do nothing else but invalidate the deal then you must not know how this kind of stuff works. If they were to do this they would be breaking a legal and binding contract, which means breaking the law. If they reveal any, and I mean ANY, information on it that they are under a SIGNED AND LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT not to reveal, they may as well kiss their company and all their assets goodbye since PWE would sue their @$$ to high hell.

    This ^^

We wouldn't have to worry about the future of warframe. There would be no hope at all.

  17. Counterpoint:

Its not enjoying gameplay, its pretending that game requires more of you than it actually is.

If only 1 person needs to guard pod at defense dont blame 3 ppl from rushing spawns, when game actually requires 4 persons to stay at pod they do like on 30+ waves of t3 or t4.

I most certainly do blame those people rushing the spawns as no one held a gun to their head to make them do it. If that's how they feel each of them needs to be in a solo match or find someone who agrees to stand idly by to clean up the 2-3 enemies that make it to the pod (still enough to take it out by the way). You want to lay the blame for bad player behavior and complete selfishness at the feet of the devs rather than where it belongs. That's fine and all but just because I was trying to defend the pod at first they have no right to yell at me for playing my way and letting it die while I take scans, or to yell while I defend the abandoned target and they bleed out. Since I can't expect a team then they shouldn't expect me to take one for it.

Finally you'd be amazed at what some of the player base will do in T3 Or 4
