Future Railjack Mission Ideas

Was talking with randoms last night when we came across the subject of something other than the kill/destroy skirmishes. Yes, these are just normal missions with extra twists and similar evacuation goals. Feedback and other ideas are welcome.

Capture:
Capture targets always seem to know when they are being hunted by the Tenno, so perhaps a stealthy path may not be needed. Bust your way in, grab the target and head back to the Railjack, in which the players must then fend off enemies that try to board the Railjack to reclaim the target. Head to an area that Cy deems safe to perform a Void Jump

Rescue:

Break in either with or without alarms, perhaps use the artillery cannon as a way to blast a way through. Break the target free, escort them to a point where the Railjack can pick them up, then run to an area that Cy deems to be a safe place to Void Jump.

Defense: Defend a station or disabled civilian vessel from waves of attackers.

Mobile Defense: Protect Civilian Mining/Salvaging vessels as they navigate and do their thing while in hostile territory.

 

You could certainly do similar for a lot of the existing ground-mission types.

Planes of Eris (PoE): Open-World area of wrecked ship hulls, occasional Infested fighters/crewships that are partially functional but still dangerous. Larger ship wrecks could be boarded for assassinating high level Phorid or Juggernaut, possible supply caches that were locked before the crew was infected and are still preserved, and random pieces of old Orokin tech. Even the sentients might be roaming around.

I love both of these.  Perhaps defending Solaris United?

Or what would be better.....how about we liberate 30 or so debt slaves from one of Nef Anyo's obelisks?  Then sabotage it?

I'm all for it as long as it's not cramped like the current infested-ship tilesets.  There needs to be space to move.

Mayhaps have a mixed environment of open spaces and shut in corridors that could lead into an Infested trap.

Infiltrate/Spy - Create a mission area full of mines, turret emplacements and ship patrols. Bonus Intrinsic if you go undetected the entire mission.

Time Trial - Destroy a "something" that is about to something really, really bad before the timer runs out.

You can turn a lot of the defense arcwing missions in to some version of railjack mission. Maybe a survival mode?

Strike and Exfiltrate - Multi-wave mission: 1) Attack enemy base, neutralize outer defenses, eliminated enemy ships, infiltrate the base.  2) Fight to and Secure Objective (equipment, VIP...whatever), after a set-event/trigger enemies will begin to attack the objective, at which point it turns from Capture to Defend.  3) Normal defensive wave until all enemies on base/ship are eliminated.  4) Defend base/ship from enemy fleet.  This part will consist of ships trying to destroy the base and troop invasions into the base/ship to take out target or vital systems.  This will be a combined railjack and away-crew fight. 5) Objective is now moved to RJ, enemy fleet appears.  You must defend railjack and defeat boarders.  6) Profit.

Invasion 

The Grineer are assaulting a Corpus ship. Your job is to maintain the balance of power. Shoot down the Ramsleds before they reach the Corpus ship, and vice versa if it is Corpus invading Grineer.

 

Eidolon Assault (with Squad Link)

The Sentients have reinforced their forces on the Plains of Eidolon. There are Tenno and Grineer working together to fend them off, but you need to assist by intercepting Sentient landing craft in Earth Orbit, and subsequently provide air support against more powerful variants of the Teralyst, Hydrolyst, Gantulyst and even the Ropalolyst. 

 

Relay Defense

The Grineer/Corpus are attempting to assault a Tenno relay. Intercept the incoming craft, protect the relay. Repel boarding parties on the relay if necessary. Various Grineer bosses or Kuva Liches may guest star in the mission

 

Fleet Crossfire Exterminate

The Grineer and Corpus are engaged in an intense fleet battle, seeking to be the first to reach an Orokin Derelict. Neither of them can be allowed to reach it. Wipe them all out

To the current set up on anomaly missions. If you complete the anomaly part and a rare chest or shedu part doesn't drop people leave the mission if you want to complete the mission people can still join they leave after they see anomaly is closed and why not they cant get the only loot attempts they wanted. My suggestions is when 1 part is complete dont allow others to join easy fix or better yet give the rare chest drop as a mission reward no one will leave early and no problem at all. thanks
