(XBOX)ForsakenMoon13
If you're lucky it will make them stumble the first time or two you try to use one but other than that they suddenly have no effect on the synthesis targets.

Synthesis Traps are broken and have been for some time actually. They do work on the synthesis target but it it only last 1 sec maybe 2 if you are lucky which is NOT how they are supposed to work. I'm pretty sure DE is aware of the issue as its been discussed on the forums on many occasions. I think there was a mention of it being "fixed" with one of the recent updates but can't remember if it was an update that was limited to the PC or all platforms. Obviously it wasn't fixed as its still an issue that makes scanning a synthesis target terribly annoying. It helps if you are using a Warframe that has Invisibility cuz the target won't run from you. I usually just do a heavy ground slam to knock it down and stun it so I can scan a node or 2 until its completed. I feel your pain and hope DE will actually fix it sometime soon! NinjaZeku
It's been fixed on PC (finally) so just ... hang in there for now, I guess.
(XBOX)Rez090
I've not had a single issue using synthesis traps on targets. Used one either Tuesday or Wednesday on someone else's target and it had no issue holding them in place to scan them.
