The Disposition is actually calculated way more precisely than the simple 5-dot guide on the weapon stats. What can help you is that on the 'Cycle Riven' screen, you can actually see which weapons you have in your inventory that can use that Riven. You can then scroll across to see how the Riven changes based on the variant of that weapon. It can be massive, like the difference between the newly released Prime weapons (which have an absolute minimum Disposition) and their existing base versions.
