Jarriaga
Hi DE. We have too many weapons and not every single weapon category is our cup of tea, and as more and more weapons are added it's becoming tedious to scroll through all weapons in a slot (Primary, secondary, melee) or to remember their name/spelling to search for them. Please allow us to flag a weapon as favorite into a quick-selection menu like you can do with color palettes. Just as simple as that; there's no need to reinvent the wheel here. Thanks.

Why the pushback or roundabout solutions to a non-intrusive QoL request that removes the need to perform any of your proposed roundabout solutions? 1 hour ago, Zakkhar said: Just put a lot of forma on it and sort by forma. That only works if you constantly update your favorite weapons with more Forma, and fails if the build you like to use has all the Forma you need already. This doesn't let you remove a weapon from favorites unless all others exceed it in Forma for the sake of it. 1 hour ago, Zakkhar said: Or you could make a separate slot warframe slot with your favourite weapons on it. That fails once you have 7+ favorite weapons per slot (21 WF slots), and that's on top of competing with WF slots for the frames themselves, which are currently 50+. 1 hour ago, Zakkhar said: Or you can visit your profile to check usage. That doesn't work if a weapon you really like from day 1 just got released, or a long-forgotten weapon given new life through updates (Incarnon). ThePredicament
This would be a great qol change and deserves more traction than it currently gets since this suggestion pops up quite a lot. Programmatically, it's not that hard to add another flag for favorites just like do with the color picker, so unfortunately, it's probably "working as intended." Hopefully down the line they do add this future, the roster for both frames and weapons is getting huge and it's only going to get bigger.
UnstarPrime
I would find this to be a pleasant and helpful addition to the game.

Renaming weapons requires platinum, and you bloat your "favorites" when you no longer want XYZ weapon to be in your favorites list because of a new version (Primed later), in turn requiring even more platinum to rename it in a way that doesn't float it. None of that would be necessary if you could simply toggle a list of favorites on/off. Edited March 12 by Jarriaga

Well when DE do make a favourites for weapons that will be great .. but they havent, and our responses arent pushbacks they are simply other solutions that work now.. and 15 plat is peanuts.. I have about 10 weapons renamed and find it great way to do quick picks.. I dont just complain about what should be I find a way to make it work first and adapt to whatever DE apply to the game when they do..

Adding to this, after you rename a weapon, it still doesn't sort properly once you remove the rename, which I have done. It has it's original name, but when I sort. it is sorted by the changed name. This would cause all sorts of annoying issues if you did this to many weapons. A favorites tab, as you suggested at least would fix this.
