Taihus Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm wondering if anyone knows if the current Corpus Tech models are a placeholder or not. I mean, a big, red Corpus crewman is kinda... well... video game-y. Or like something the Grineer would do. I'd imagine the Corpus using a sort of boxy exoskeleton, like a high-tech version of that lifter in Aliens.
Sweetie_Belle Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Are you kidding? That red jumpsuit is seething with power!
unit8606 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 my thoughts exactly- if not exoskeleton, then certainly I would love to see some really distinctive texturework on him. As of now he's just bigger and red, but basically same as crewman
Noogums Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'd also love to see an update to the Techs. The Corpus need that variety.
Retrikaethan Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 i wonder if you all considered that the big guy is, in fact, a guy in an exoskeleton suit?
Meenmu Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Heavy exosuit (not warframe-like) thingies would be neat
Delapore Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 i wonder if you all considered that the big guy is, in fact, a guy in an exoskeleton suit? Maybe. But something more visually distinct would still be cool. Hell, even if you keep the model and the red suit, and just put some Waldo armatures along his limbs and a big powerpack arrangement on his back.
Taihus Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Are you kidding? That red jumpsuit is seething with power! Corpus Techs are crewmen who've gone super-saiyan, obviously. Maybe. But something more visually distinct would still be cool. Hell, even if you keep the model and the red suit, and just put some Waldo armatures along his limbs and a big powerpack arrangement on his back. Basically what I was thinking, at the very least.
-Mandachordian-Tenno- Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 haha, remove the helmet(or not) and put an exo-armorsuit that fits the Corpus, like reversed-engineered moa to make a Moa Tech huehue
Makya Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Corpus Mech-suits? Clearly robotic and nothing like Tenno suits, one supra under each arm.
arch111 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Mm at least they should wear gear for their class. The magic Call Osprey, has had its laugh. As builders and advanced workers, it should show what they do.
windsofdestruction Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Tech is an unique enemy in Corpus. Different from moas, but also stronger than those normal crewmans, they seems like human, but stronger than it, that's really interesting to me. But I think Tech's appearance can be more than that now. They are one of crewmans, but more than that, so how about give them a exoskeleton suit to explain all of this? According to in-game impressions, Corpus is a faction that good at energy weapons and robotic technology, I think they won't do gene work to their own mans to fight. For them, an exo-suit might be a better ways to get an physique edge when fighting with the grineer. I'm not good at drawing so I can only give you my concept, maybe you can add a skeleton like frame on their orange spacesuit, like US Army's TALOS program. http://www.extremetech.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/1901159.jpg picture of prototype TALOS, the skeleton only design can let tech remain familiar appearance with crewman. You can give tech a pair of power gloves and power boots to increase their height and length of limbs, so any normal(or an Elite, team leader or something) crewman who wear this can become the tall, strong tech, not only do the dangerous parts of research, but also stand on the frontline fighing Grineer or other threat. Just some little opinion from a Warframe player, I think that's cool, and can be a part of the expanding lore, if you accept this concept, I will be very appreciate for this.
Noogums Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 That helmet looks a little comically big. But, we all pretty much want the CorpusTechs to have exo-skeletons.
Taihus Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Oh, yeah, totally. I made a thread about this earlier, but it seems to have slipped off the radar.
Noogums Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Oh, yeah, totally. I made a thread about this earlier, but it seems to have slipped off the radar. If you care to bump it again, I'll merge the two.
Taihus Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Here we are: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/163501-corpus-techs-are-they-placeholder/
Noogums Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Merged the two topics. Let the discussion continue!
vellom Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 +1 for a change of the techs. corpus look really boring to me, especially all crewmen and techs don't really seem to be robotic or futuristic. An exoskeleton would be really cool!
arch111 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Well for me its the John Travolta Ospray Summon spell that needs to go. In what Monkey Island pocket did he hide THAT? Visible Moa launcher please.
Vanadium Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Definitely +1 to OP and visible Osprey pack, like the Fusion Moas. Also, having their AI identical to Grineer heavies makes them too easy. Giving them some CC (not ground-slam) would be nice. Right now, they're just free affinity on Xini. They have no sense self-preservation other than "Summon Osprey I".
Taihus Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) Osprey, I choose you! Edited January 22, 2014 by Taihus
windsofdestruction Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Change to visible Osprey backpack/waist pack, reduce osprey to 1, then give tech a new skill might be better.
arch111 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Ability to ressurect fallen robots should be the reason to fear him. plus plasma frag grenades.
