I don't remember Mercedes being a "yank tank" either :P

I think his point was "non-british"

Even that would be shot down by that lovely little Elise up there. No, it just seemed there was a lot of classic U.S. steel in the thread. Make no mistake, they've got masses of style... but by and large they're neither as comfortable nor as fast as a modern car, and their handling was atrocious even for their period. That at least looks to be changing at last with the latest Z06 and perhaps the new Mustang. (no live rear axle? SACRELIEGE)

Nearly went with one of these when I bought a car in Jan, but the upkeep and fuel costs would likely have broken me. It still stirs up all sorts of tinglies watching one drive past, though. It's a *real car*, but also a firebreathing dragon in a tailored three-piece suit.

Yeah the biggest fallout for german auto master race is fuel economy xD.

I keep fighting the urge every time I look at an Audi or Mercedes.

Been seeing a lot of these puppies along Kuopio's streets. Like mini-R8s. You just want to cuddle them.

So many pretty cars!

I don't care what anyone has to say though... a 1970 Chevy Nova might steer like a boat and not be "as fast" (stock at least) as a modern car, but I still want one lol

Edit: Nice car Karpfen, but why the little white box in the middle of the picture? o.o

Probably my dream car would be a Lotus Elise. Sure, it's cramped and uncomfortable, but it's lightweight, handles amazingly and has some serious speed. Efficient speed at its finest :)

Oh, my...

Car porn...  o_o

Licence plate. :s It's the internet, a dark place and all. ;)

See now I feel silly, because that makes complete sense lol

However, if it were me, terrible road conditions or not, if I could have my dream car I'd buy it... road conditions aren't that great here either, but that doesn't stop me from wanting my Nova xD

KillerKarpfen, you bring me back to the days of my misspent youth, and my sweet '71 Skylark.  Back when engines were measured in inches, she had 350 of'em, with a quad carb, bench seats, and metaflake black paint job.  *sigh*

The only knocks I had against here were that she was an automatic and not a stick, and of course she'd pass everything but a gas station.

Gazes off into distance....

Oh, I ended up going with a Scirocco 2.0TSi anyway. >.<

Something realistic to have when I finally force myself to get a license?

inb4 getting flamed for this. I just love the design. Sorry.

My wife actually owned the non-R eurospec 1.8 liter Civic! Sold it recently... it doesn't have any low-end power*. She went with a new Fiesta ST. Remarkably solid-feeling little car.

* may have just been run in lazy because it was her first "real" car...

No one likes DeLorean? I feel sad :(

Far from it, though I don't see the point of a stainless steel hulk with no power. I recommend the Regular Cars review if you're a fan:

Actually, I recommend anyone who's interested in cars watch every one of his videos. :D (disclaimer: not even vaguely close to work-safe)

an automatic and not a stick

nice car you had there

1970 Chevy Monte Carlo, had the 454 SS engine and drivetrain in it that was slapped in there sometime before I bought it. It seemed to be a stock 350 car otherwise haha. I had that car when I was living and working in Hungary and the V8 club in Budapest took good care of here. Was hard to find all the SS parts for that car so mostly we made do with Chevelle parts. Ah I miss her, an absolute beast on the road. As long as it was a straight line...and you had gas stations every hour or so. :D
