Azawarau
The Penta can do damage to everything in its AoE. You don't see the Penta having low damage do you? Or the Ogris? Both the Ogris and Penta outdo even the strongest guns int h game Argument invalid here

xethier
Both the Ogris and Penta outdo even the strongest guns int h game Argument invalid here he does have a bit of a point, in that the ignis, ogris and penta are all denial of area weapons. and the ignis is very lackluster when compared to those two. in fact, comparing the ignis to the ogris & penta would have been a far more apt way of going about it than using the mk1-braton. (although i do understand why he did what he did) i think the ignis needs a buff, personally... but probably not as much as most would think. the ignis does a good job currently, but as has been stated by numerous folks, it only excels with ember's accelerant, and that is a problem. increasing it's damage output by about 15-20% would put it back in the running for "decent weapon" it is a bit of a joke currently. One is a nuke/lanucher and one is a continuous AoE Itd be like pairing the Amprex to the Ogris Amprex to Ignis is a more fair comparison Also the gun Excels in CC Its not going to kill single targets quickly but it is ammo efficient if used for what its meant for It could be boosted up above the braton but paper number value is not the right way to compare two weapons when one has entirely different use and utility than the other

Neogeo
Brato-30m automatic machine gun Ignis-20m aoe flamethrower with heavy ammo consumption rate To me, the short range and ammo hungry already compensate for the aoe part. The damage nerf is just overkill. There is only one instance where ignis will outperform braton, when you got swarm by infestor but its hardly worthy to bring ignis nowadays because there are better and newer weapon. Noble_Cactus
That's clearly an orange orca. Orcas are dolphins Also yeah, I only ever used the Ignis for clearing out low level alerts back when I had it since I didn't have Ember (Prime). Even with its large area-of-denial, its power dropped off a cliff around Lv40 or so, which is the case with most subpar weapons anyway. But I like flamethrowers, and I'd like to see the Ignis get a damage bump. Even if it's more of a gasthrower than an actual flamethrower. Speaking of which, a traditional flamethrower could be a cool weapon...

DSpite
This is not "power creep", this is "Forma creep". If you jam 8 Forma on a gun - which incidentally is more Forma than my current test Dojo has in it - I fail to see why the numbers look bad. If Forma did not exist or simply allowed a slot to take "special" mods only, this would not happen. There is basically no downside to adding Forma when you do it properly, ie you ALREADY know the max-damage mod build, and there SHOULD be a down side. Forma mechanics have to change, not guns and mods. Good luck getting even near 2K DPS with only 60 points and not 90 Edited September 10, 2014 by DSpite

xethier
More then MK-1 Braton with worst DPS in game? Maybe. worst dps, but very accurate fire, very little recoil and easy-to-manage headshots. (which is why it's a fairly good new-player weapon) -vs- an area denial weapon which can tear through packs of mobs, has a fairly frequent status chance (10%) and continuous fire. and who's DPS isn't including the proc damage. maybe? --- um... there's no maybe here, sir. letir
There is no pride in beating worst weapon in game. Most weapons can put Punch Through and beat bunch of mobs on any distance. Ignis is weak, don't have enough status, chew through your ammo too fast and can't be compared with leaders.

What part of AoE is not getting through here It beats more than just the MK-1 because its an AoE weapon Other weapons have to drop damage for shred or Metal Auger and wont have the kind of AoE potential the Ignis has

Other weapons have better DPS and can sacrififce it for mods, and they don't have 20m limit.
fatpig84
Ignis used to have 125 base DPS. It dealt too little damage. So DE boost it to 150 DPS and gave it infinite punch through. They thought infinite punch through was OPed, so they gave ignis 100 damage. Which makes it actually weaker than before. But Ember does make it really stronk. At the cost of other skills of course.
