Morec0 Posted May 26, 2015 Share Posted May 26, 2015 This same thought crossed my mind when thinking about Cityscape tilesets and the possibilities of adds showing up on billboards in them. I wondered how funny it would be to have said ads be ads for ACTUAL things. I think if DE could work them in like that ^ written up in the Corpus language and posted where it would make SENSE for them to be posted (tv commercials on the tileset, billboards, electronic signs) it could make them a little money without much expense as player enjoyment - heck, maybe even increase player enjoyment by creating something so lively. It's just a 10 minutes photoshop. lol I made that so people can understand what you mean. it's just sad seeing people bashing you, but didn't read or understand your 1st post. i kinda neutral on this ads on loading stuff. i just don't understand people why people saying "NO!" because they hate their own imagination about ads on warframe. lol One thing for sure, i believe DE is a good company. Sure, they screw up sometimes. Most of these odd post of 'asking the community for the opinion on advertise or lockboxes' are third-grade f2p party companies hunters... and if your not affiliated with them then please STOP asking for such thing, you clearly haven't seen how BAD the F2P MMO industry is plaguing great games to the ground...with their...advertise or lockboxes or whatever third world of advertising they "think" sells good. However..... once suits realize this is an additional revenue stream that would help them buy that 5th mansion they want in the Caymen Islands, they'll see as nothing more than a checkbox to tick in soulless yearly sequal #324. Such ads won't be creative and fit into the game seamlessly. It'll happen eventually I'm sure (probably the next generation or two I'm thinking - there was a time people said free games would never work) - but I'm satisfied it hasn't become widespread yet.... Imagine getting free skins for the liset or your Tenno that makes you look like a walking billboard. Yes, many would not want to see that, but the thought of a liset with a Viagra or Geico or even Cheerios on the front of it makes me laugh a bit. Plus, I remember reading on another site about a D&D type game that took place in a giant Wallmart. think of the possible raids where we run through a derelict ship that is a large store. I would absolutely definitely, definitively stop playing Warframe if that happened. I play it to escape from the everyday world, not be reminded of it. Having Darvo signs pop up occasionally in Corpus tilesets with actual info on his current sale in the Relay would be useful and entertaining... Plus the puns. (PSN)GbHaseo Posted May 27, 2015 Share Posted May 27, 2015 I personally don't mind either way. Warframe isn't exactly sucking me into their world, like say Mass Effect, Witcher, and/or Elder Scrolls. If its more money for them to support the game, then I'd be ok with it, I'd expect in-game purchases to be a bit cheaper, but that's it. They wouldn't even need to lower the grind for me, as I'm ok with the grind. I mean its FTP, it's really hard to be FTP and DE has done a great job so far.
