Any Word On The Auction House?

You think some sort of Auction House would help, but it would in fact cause a flood of those 'spares' and making them near worthless in one day. The problem with the current system is people think they can get X plat for some particular item, but obviously no one is buying at that price because it's not reasonable altogether.

Don't get me wrong, it would certainly help folks like me to get things purchased quickly, but it would be a buyer's market, not the seller's. Prices would skew in favor of liquidating any and all 'rare' items, making the prices considerably less than they are currently.

The auction house won't solve some problems and this is not true who does not want auction houses are want to keep the prices high.

See the pros and cons what can give an AH then try to balance it.

The current trade system is bad as hell, because have some scrubs who selling their wares for incredibly high prices others ask much less and that also crap because they are exploited. There is somewhere a price list for goods but there is no calculation how hard to get a mod because all is just luck.

For this reason an AH just makes the things worser because there will be cheaters again, whom put prices so high and others will just slightly lower the prices and vice verse and others won't be able put their wares to the AH and after all almost noone will use AH because the abnormal prices.

Have a lot more pros for auction houses but the risk is higher to exploit than the current because you can decide will buy or sell things. On auction house if you put your wares for a fix price then you maybe won but you can also lose some of goods and a lot of platinum hunter will specialize theirself for auction.

The credit trading would be a good idea if DE not selling credit for plat which ruining their business policy. also 500 cred = 1 plat and the current plat prices are just bad. Their profit comes from mainly the cosmetics and the unpatient peoples whom want everything so fast and not want to grind for goods.

So this can clean the trade chat and it can speed up the trading process but also make higher risk to trade.

PS : I was the one who it's time disagree any trade in game because clearly seen it could ruin the game but the majority voted up.

I hope we never get an auction house... ever.

They empowers sellers too much.

The current system has buyers and sellers on an even footing. Both are expected to be vigilant in the chat and personally work out a deal with another real person, which also creates a social challenge with incentive (challenges are a good thing, Warframe community... ya scrubs...) which serves as a great entry point into the social half of the game.

The current trading system is actually healthy for the game when compared to an Auction House.

I'll catch some flack for this one, but I stand by it.

An auction house similar to the Grand Exchange in Runescape could be great.

Here's the reason, you do not see pages upon pages of items like in a typical auction.

You have a list of item names, you choose an item that you wish to purchase and then make a purchase order. Once the exchange finds an item matching your offer, it makes the trade and the item is yours.

You cannot see what other people are charging, so there is very little undercutting. You have a recommended value, then a minimum and a maximum. You can go higher than the maximum but it probably will not sell, and if you go lower.. its your loss basically.

Mind you the recommended values do change over time, according to average selling prices. If an item sells for less than the current average, then the current average will drop little by little, and the same goes for rising prices. Though it is much much slower than in typical auctions. A price drop that might take 12 hours in a typical auction would take a week in the Grand Exchange.

A market place like Vindictus would be nice.

That game had a fairly poor example of a market. Five pages of the same item in stacks of 1, each listing cheaper than the last. "Competitive" undercutting at its finest. I played Vindictus from closed beta up until it went p2w with tier 15 enhancements and over powered raid bosses.

Just listings would be good.

eg:  Seller lists everything they want to sell, and the price they want (basically like a Trade-chat spam).

Buyer types looks at list and searches for the thing they want, gets a list of every seller selling that specific thing, selects one to buy from the list, and plat is automatically exchanged.

I fail to see how that is worse than currently.

I don't understand why some people are against an Auction House system.

It's not fun sitting for hours in the Trade Chat trying to sell your unwanted things for a modest sum of platinum while: a) nobody even whispers you b) people try to lowball you c) the spam filter kicks in limiting your advertising to every 180 secs d) after waiting those 180 seconds, your advertisement instantly gets pushed out of the screen by some guy's 5-line-copied-and-pasted advertisement. Neither is it fun spamming WTB in the trade chat until you finally agree to buy that one guy's item for a ripoff price because you're so sick and tired of sitting in the trade chat.

An Auction House would make everything so much more convenient. Got a heap of stuff you don't want? Just unload it at the AH and don't worry about it without wasting hours on end. Want something? No need to spam for hours or offer to buy it for a ridiculous price, just search for it, click buy and it's yours.

C'mon, it's 2015. Every decent MMO has an AH these days.

Good to know that DE is putting serious thought into the trade system.

Prime parts and mods cannot continue to be bought and sold at less than 40 platinum per piece. These low prices brought about by scavenger cartels grinding the game are undercutting the revenues DE needs to develop the game and make it more than a grindfarm that these same scavengers will abandon in an instant when its no longer fresh.

If an auction system will lead to plummeting prices, what about a bourse where buying and selling prices can be matched to each other?

Ultimately though DE must intervene to create true scarcity for their Prime parts to have any value.

There should be rewards other than Prime parts and "rare" mods that still make the game worthwhile playing, and if the MR 19 scavengers, AFK bastards and scavenger-grinders leave because of that it, may still be worth it in terms of having a leaner player base but freedom to take the game in the direction they want.
