weezedog Posted August 19, 2015 Share Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) I'm trying to get used to using life strike instead of the syndicate mod. I did replace the syndicate mod with Focus Energy, which nicely offsets an unranked life strikes energy drain and gives 60% extra electric damage (electric is used in all my builds since it makes the most important elements) My biggest issue and complaint right now is that when I start channeling with the intention of using life strike, Exalted Blade's Auto Parry starts sucking energy like mad. It's not Life Strike draining my energy, it's the auto parry. Instead of the 5 energy I meant to spend to restore health I end up blowing 80 energy because of the stupid auto parry while channeled that I can't control. And I literally only channeled for a second or too. You have to be channeling when the wave hits the target to get the life strike effect, so that means channeling for longer than I would like and that causes unintended auto parry energy drain. Remind me again why EB Auto Parry energy drain isn't affected by effeciency mods? Why is the drain so high? It wasnt OP in any way, yet it made things interesting by having an bonus AoE and giving Excal more choice on weapons. You could bring a high tier melee weapon that could be used for normally, or bring in weaker weapon that had syndicate mods available (like Skana and such) to use specifically with Exalted Blade. Many desire her, but little did they know, that she was only for Excal Prime's hands. The two lived happily ever after. They also slaughtered countless people together. Lichcontract Posted August 20, 2015 Share Posted August 20, 2015 It's not that the Prisma skana was a bad weapon it's just that the utility of the syndicate mod helped so much with Xcal but now we are kinda forced to go back to the cookie cutter weapons. This change just decreased the amount of melee variation we had with Xcal, instead of the desired result we will just stick to Dnikana or Dakra. This means that if you want to be effective with the weapon alone you should go for a crit build, sacrificing 2 damage slots when it comes to link the build to EB. With how underpowered is the crit chance mod for melee, you end up with only 24% chance, while your base damage will be quite inferior than with a pure elemental build.
