I currently stumbled upon a show called Ushio to Tora. it's about this kid who finds a youkai pinned to a wall in his basement by a spear and they go on fighting youkai and doing some silly crap along the way. the first season/series (about 24 episodes) is completed. They also started up the second season. You could always give it a try. as for newer series, there is boku no hero, bungou stray dogs, and assassination class room for action with humor. former 2 are about 3 episodes in while assassination classroom is on it's second season.
