Well, with both status and crit not viable you can only do pure damage: (Just throw Tether on the open slot, Builder doesn't have it yet)

There's nothing "good" or "bad" about Primed Cryo, just your willingness to throw another Forma on it for a bit more damage:

Tether grenades is a game changer for this weep!  I avoided it as well, as to not be "that guy" in missions, unless I was in a all-friends group.

Primed Cryo is a must IMO, you need dmg; as much as you can pack in. Your gonna eat a slot or 2 for QoL stuff (tether included).

Here's what I run ATM..  The mod being covered up is Terminal Velocity the 60% flight speed mod, I use it for longballing mf'ers on large maps.

FWIW, here's my build:

Serration, Heavy Caliber (no real accuracy loss, as opposed to e.g. Ogris lol)
Firestorm, Split Chamber (yay more AoE / damage, 3 shot limit is plenty IMO)
Stormbringer, Infected Clip
Tether Grenades, Riven Mod [ATM simply base damage & Cold]

Annoyingly, Multishot-generated grenades count against the 5 active grenades limit,
so if you want to cover more of the map in Tether Grenades traps, you might want to skip it.

The way I use my Penta though, I'll either kill stuff before the first 'nade even hits a surface
or maybe wait a few seconds for some enemies to amass in my chokepoint tether
so there'll usually only be one or two shots worth of grenades active, anyway.
