Next time you manage to use Trinity to un-glitch a Defector squad that decided to watch some paint dry on that pretty wall instead of going anywhere, make a video of that. Because you can be running a squad of 4 Trinities, and still bug out.

Yes, it has some issues. But it would be stupid to delete because there are some who don't mind it and a few who actually like it.

With such overpowered machines as the Tenno, having the Tenno keep alive something weaker than they takes a different skill/knowledge set from minmaxing and puts some value on cc and support.

I like Defection. They're keeping it just for me. :clem:

I like the idea behind the game mode. It would be a pity to see them axe it, when it's actually just a couple of core problems:

1. It takes a lot of time per rotation. Maybe should go stragiht from A to B, C, rinse and repeat, instead of 2 squadrons per point.

2. This in turn makes it be worth much less lot. Same problem as with archwing, people wont play the mode if it's not time-efficient, and you'll be playing alone and it will suck.

3. The AI. I lost a War BP today because the first group wouldn't move.

4. Too many moving parts. In a defence, you have one point and things come and you kill and that's it. In Desertion, you have a thing you need cells for, then also a group of people coming from somewhere, to whom you also have to give an order to continue, while another group comes from somewhere else... Too complicated to learn in a naturally stressful scenario.

 

I think if they just improved the AI and halved the rotation time it would gain much popularity.

I think a major problem with this mode is that it's a reward every TWO squads rescued. It should be a reward EVERY squad rescued. Seriously, those guys walk way too slow.

In addition, they spawn too far away from the Life Support capsule.. really, do you have to make them spawn like 100+ meters away in some cases? Just make them spawn at the capsule itself.

And make them walk faster. Either that, or make the level smaller. There's far too much waiting around while watching slow NPCs walking sloooooowly.

I've thought that a lot of times, Defection would be much more popular with a reward per every squad rescued, even if rotatation A rewards are crap like in excavations...

Also I believe that the healing around the life support capsules should be much faster to ease the dependence over a trinity or a healer.  Or just some kind of mechanic chance, right now you just spam the squads out, and I doubt that changes unless the mode gets some bigger changes...

I like defection, it just needs to be fixed

1. Up rewards to be competetive with excavation, 240 endo doesnt beat hieracons 400 endo espescially when it currently takes 20s longer to save a squad on avg.

2. Fix pathing on kavor, its inexcusable to still have them sometimes not work at all, getting stuck on bridges or standing still at spawn

3. Have enemies focus first on tenno, then on kavor, and let he RV and manics do the opposite.

4. Either let us give kavor weapons or remove them entirely, their weapons are weak and only serve to make them get attacked more

5. Let ability speed boosts work on them :)

6. Seriously fix the pathing, youve had months to do it

you know theres a fun little item de added I forge what its call the ones to make npcs more useful? Have you try it?

Its long past time DE stopped depending on Escort/Stationary defense for missions. Look at Assault: Its a fun, somewhat dynamic mission type. Develop a system where those different stages can fluctuate every run between dynamic options...you have yourself a fun mission system.

But this escorting really dumb NPC's (Sortie Defense, anyone) and standing around defending objects NEEDS to stop. Its become hopelessly dull and repetitive...

I just up and bought Harrow -- I'm not $&*^ing around with Defection in the hopes of that part. Plus, the Riven is a more valuable reward for finishing the quest.

I'm on PC, and squads get locked in place about 1 out of 4 runs for me; you just hope you get two squads out before a glitch happens, so you can at least extract rather than abort.
