Scariest part was getting the digestive system up and running again (usually takes 2-3 days after an operation), and very few times has taking a dump been such a relief. :D Removed the sealed dressings this morning to get some air to the stitches, and counted 12 staples over 4 incisions, no sign of infection and very little discoloration. Cleaned them with disinfectant swabs, and covered up with padded micropore, to avoid snagging and abrasion. Well enough to get outside to get fresh groceries by now (in small quantities). I had plenty of shelf stable foods ready, in case I was incapacitated for longer, but fresh fruit and eggs still beat canned fish and protein powder. Still, never hurts to be prepared. One thing that got painfully obvious: I need a new futon. The old one is too compressed in the middle, and after a couple of days in one position, back and shoulders hurt really bad. Found a dealer not far from where I live, so once I save up enough (hopefully over the summer), it should be simple to buy one and get it home. I love getting a new futon!
