I wonder is Nidus a failed warframe that Ballas threw out? Would Nidus umbra explain the infested? What dark knowledge does Nidus knows? To say nothing of trying to make forty five entire new quests all about death and tragedy. Part of what made Excalibur Umbra so good was that it was completely new. 0_The_F00l Posted April 4, 2020 Share Posted April 4, 2020 The Warframe origin stories are sometimes so convoluted not sure it will be a thing. quest frames (limbo , mirage , inaros etc.) had a decent origin and was clear they were unique, Starter frames (Mag , Volt , Excalibur) seem to be generic molds that everyone had. Prime frames are supposed to be the prototypes when shown to the Orokin ? i am still not clear on the lore implications behind it? Umbra was a means to introduce an enhanced version of Excalibur without having to re release the prime, I do not see an Umbra "variant" for any other frame honestly.
