Spectra Vandal's current Acquisition is absurd

The Spectra Vandal's current acquisition is covered under three layers of RNG:

  1. The correct Veil Derelict must spawn (not the large Derelicts that have asteroids orbiting it).
  2. The console must spawn on board said Derelict (a waypoint upon entering)
  3. Cache drop itself.

What doesn't help is that the Cache table is diluted with useless drops, such as Dirac and rare Empyrean Resources we could easily get more than the Cache itself. Frankly, I don't think the Rotations within the Cache table matter since there is only one Cache, should it spawn.

To simply make the farm for the weapon better:

  • Make the Derelict spawn and the Cache guaranteed to spawn. It's annoying to see a rather empty Derelict.
  • Have more than one Derelict. That way, the Cache table Rotations can somewhat matter with multiple drops.
  • Fill the Cache with better items such as Tactical Avionics (Death Blossom, Flow Burn, Battle Stations). Remove the worthless resource drops at the same time.
  • Looting the Cache after the Skirmish is over will give you what the Cache had rather than getting nothing.

Thoughts?

Should’ve played the event.

I already did, but that's not the point. What about the other players who missed out Operation Hostile Merger? Now they have to endure the triple layers of RNG or give in and trade for the parts.

It is completely absurd, yes, and drastically out of line with how most other event weapons return. Rather baffling for a weapon that... pretty much nobody cared about. The other weapon from the event, Glaxion Vandal, has also had a very bizarre return method so far; it was just a twitch drop twice.

It's not worth worrying about obtaining it, but it still makes sense to point out how completely absurd it is. feels like DE just makes completely arbitrary decisions of where to shove things to fill space. (though speaking of filling space, how many years have old wraith/vandal parts been on invasions without anything new being added? It's like five or six wraith weapons versus only two vandals, and they STILL don't ever add more vandals to it)

Don't grind it, do what's fun instead.

The most important loot you will get in a mission is the thrill of shooting & destroying stuff. If acquiring this thing presents a poor ratio of fun generated per effort expended? Then don't do it, ever, under any circumstances.
