Reinventing Challenge in Warframe

As an "endgame" player, I take great pride in my min-maxed gear, solid rivens and obscene dmg numbers. However, Warframe's only idea of a challenge is

1) Limiting my power level (Grendel's missions)

2) Not at all challenging (Think Arbi's)

And the sole thing that is vaguely challenging, Boss Fights and Orb Mothers, have 0 worthy rewards.

Introducing Challenge

Taking heed from "Speedrunning" and the Ayatan rooms, I think I've an idea with regards to overhauling Arbitrations to introduce Real Challenge.

1) Arbitrations will no longer be a "single" mission on rotation, but 4 missions that change weekly. They can be done Solo, or in a Squad (more explained later)

> Survival/Endurance

> Disruption

> Assassinate (Tridolons/Orb Mother)

> Capture

2) The challenge comes in hitting truly hard to reach milestones.

> Survival: Instead of run of the mill enemies, enemies begin at lvl 100 and scale very quickly. This means every 10min, average levels should increase by 100. Instead of "camping" and going by the ever-depleting life support system, we will follow ESO's Efficiency system - forcing players to at least try to always be killing. Every 5 min, the Efficiency system does get progressively tougher.

Minibosses spawn: Every 5 min, mini bosses like Vor, Lech Krill, Liches etc will spawn that if killed will act as "Efficiency Stimulus" slowing down the depletion. Their HP will be buffed significantly (like maybe an additional 1mil*time/5min buff)

Objective: Survive as long as you can. Dying once "Completes" the mission at wtv time you were at.

> Disruption: Taking heed from Hostile Mergers, the health of enemies to kill just scale up obscenely quick. You earn points similar to Hostile Mergers, more points for simultaneous activations and successes.

Objective: Earn the most points. No single death limitation. Completion is when all 4 conduits are destroyed in a round.

> Assassinate: Speedrunning Eidolon/Orb mother. Perhaps take some hints from plaguestar and have a "Chain-Mission". Instead of going straight to hunting, there are other objectives one has to fulfil first? Unsure how this could be made more fun

> Capture: Driftframe. No operator, weekly group of frames to use. Enemies are lvl 30-40 (low level), but must be captured under certain time limits to earn rewards.

Objective: Shortest time possible to extraction.

3) Rewards:

For endgame players, what i feel most ppl need are 1) Large amounts of resources from modes we may not play (be it Railjack, Fortuna, POE etc). 2) Forma, Potatos.

So how would this work? Instead of having a stupid droptable, Arbitration points are given out for hitting milestones, that scales exponentially for endurance missions (Disruption/Survival)

> Survival: Hitting 10mins gives 10, 1h gives 100 so on so forth.

For time limited missions (Assassinate/Capture), going below a milestone gives you alot of points.

> Tridolon: Sub 9 min gives 100 points etc.

Squad v Solo: For squad, your rewards are divided by number of players. More players, less rewards.

Your arbitration points can therefore be redeemed into any major resource (Endo, Kuva) and Forma/Potatoes. However, they can also be redeemed into like 3h 8x resource boosters (yes 8x) for missions, allowing you to run wtv mission you want and gain the resources you need.

Alternatively: Just swap arbitration points directly for resources.

Only problem with that is that that is for tryhards. And because a portion of content is locked behind arbitrations, it shouldn't be done. Not enough of the playerbase is focused on getting the best of the best gear and everything.

The average player must be able to access and play that content. Not just those who always face those kinds of enemies.

Challenge should not be directed towards the casual player base. That's why it is called a challenge. Lol

Problem with all this treads and ideas, that they at this stage "balance illness" of game is incurable. Ginie left bottle long time ago: players already so powerful and adept in expoiting game systems, that even so called casuals casualy one-shot rooms and dont care about anything. For hardcore players just nothing to do at all honestly (in terms of challange), expect finishing some sort of collections or fooling around with rivens (for fun, not any need) and fashionframe.

The ideas could have some more work and some more thinking behind it but at the core of everything the idea of a challenge isnt a bad one... the casuals would just whine becuase they only have 2 brain cells but some challenge is necessary, not everyone likes to annihilate a bunch of enemies by sneezing on them for hours on end.

some look into warframe enemy ai would be appreciated also, they are so dumb a #*!%ing dummy can be more better to kill than the enemies

only idea of challenge of warframe currently is enemies that are invulnerarable for most of the time, status immune or enemies with obscene damage.
