Oh yes, the vets should be "helping" and "assisting" new players by trailing after them and stealing all the kills because only the last hit counts and nothing else matters meaning that the "proper" way to play is to either:
A) Play only solo and never engage in the multiplayer so that you can actually get more than 5 pearls per run
OR
B) Play multiplayer and only jump around and focus on stealing the kills from everyone else because why should you put in the effort to get through the first 80% of the enemies healthbar when that scores you literally nothing and gets you zero pearls, meanwhile if you just steal everyone elses kills you'll easily get massive amounts of pearls every single run

This is a very anti-cooperative game mode....and really needs to be changed so that it is more cooperative instead of what it currently is.

I see we have different definitions of assisting however I agree a better sharing system is needed. That said, that is a countermeasure to camping, no?

We have 99.999% of the rest of the game, including a brand new world with a vets exclusive SP Circuit with tons of rewards to play with. Having DE to then take the time to remake (still fun) annual events that cater to newer players just for us to still complain about the rewards and repetition every single year sounds like an unnecessary dev headache.

Instead, I offer we let the new kids enjoy the always prepared annual experiences (while also allowing vets to enjoy with friends and complete missing rewards) so the devs and resources can remain focused on giving the rest of us new and different experiences. I'm having a hard time wondering why that is not an understandable proposition.

Why are you restricting yourself? "I'm an adult, I shouldn't enjoy simple, childish pleasures." - that's a very flawed logic caused by wrong understanding what adulthood means. As older, more experienced people, we should be responsible for our actions, not limited by some silly rules that we or other people came up with for no reason. Not allowing yourself to enjoy a game mode because you think it'd make devs uncomfortable limits your rights to comfortable existence. It makes your life restricted and defective. And if you stick to this logic you'll only keep hurting yourself.  If you continue to live like this you'll keep giving up things you can and should have to others until you'll be left with nothing. You'll end up broken and alone, with no friends, no pleasures, no joy of being alive. You'll have no dreams, no desires, no life goals because you'll think you don't deserve to achieve any of that.

You really should visit a specialist. You're showing signs of real depression. And if you don't treat it as soon as possible it'll destroy your life.

Besides, believe me, making that simple game mode more fun for everyone isn't hard at all. Dog Days is so empty, so lacking of anything fun that it can be considered empty canvas. Adding literally anything will greatly improve it. And devs are quite capable of doing it. You shouldn't protect devs from that. It's their responsibility to make the game fun for everyone. And they know it, that's why they've made Duviri Paradox update available for both new and old players. So again, discard your vicious logic and permit yourself to enjoy every spectrum of game, of life. Before it became too late and before you ruined your own life.

Honestly who cares about camping and if people get "pearls they don't deserve"?

Right now you have a game mode where if you are aren't kill stealing then it is miserably slow progress, and if you are kill stealing then you're just slowing down your team-mates and ruining their time with the mission.

I would rather that other people I play with don't actively hurt the other players in the mission by being there.
I would rather that the more people playing a mission the more pearls are earned.
And if that means that there are a few leaches?  So what....it would be much better than the system as it currently stands. (and it's not like people don't leach it anyways)

This is a cooperative game and shouldn't have blatantly anti-cooperative mechanics that reward being an a**hole to the rest of the team.
