Auto-melee rework (from 2023 tennocon info) + Ghoulsaw (especially riding).

From 2023 tennocon we are supposed to get "auto melee" (e.g. hold to keep using melee). It would be ok for some weapons but great for things like Ghoulsaw's moving combo (1 attack in combo that just fits "hold" functionality). Those attacks that you can repeat and be "fine".

Ghoulsaw riding mechanic (moving + block) would benefit from slightly different implementation of (auto melee). Riding mechanic is affected by speed so you can do very quick motion that is not very manage-able. Auto-melee (keep repeating the attack) won't help it. Instead why not:

- hold melee key to start & keep riding

- when you release the key (melee button) frame executes slam

Or with tap version:

- tap melee key to start riding

- tap melee key again to finish (and execute slams)

That would make Assault saw stance much better to use with riding.

That would require re-coding the way the attacks work, and as we all know, DE hates working on old content

Not really true at all considering damage, par-core, most tile-sets, most game-modes, melee, mods, arcanes and focus have all received at least 1 rework.

It's pretty true for the most part. All of those systems were reworked a VERY long time ago.

Gamemodes like Rescue, Capture, mobile defence etc. haven't been touched nearly since the games launch. Old tile sets haven't been refreshed in years, the current damage system is 2 months off of being 10 years old (it dropped in update 11, in 2013).

While they do tweaks to things now and again, they very much don't go back to old content anywhere near regularly enough to keep things fresh. It's part of why Warframe has such terrible powercreep and is known for having Content Islands. Hell Railjack has nearly no relevance anymore which is sad, cause it's original conception was that we could link from "open worlds" into our railjack, go do railjack missions, and fly to other planets somewhat seamlessly, which would of given Railjack this awesome immersion and relavance it's sorely lacking. We know it's possible to do, because DE DID showcase it working.

All of these game-modes have seen reworks, most around 3-4 years after first release. They may not have had more recent updates, but they dont need them. They do what they need to.

Tilesets dont need yearly refreshes and map rotations. This isnt Call of duty. But the corpus gas city was updated in 2019, Corpus ships in 2020. Thats not that long ago.

Sure, but so has the system by where we press the walk forward button to walk forward. Just because its old, doesnt mean it necessitates a rework. Also, its not entirely true. While the system hasnt had a full rework, its had several modifications, like most damage types status' being adjusted, void damage being added, ect.

Updating old content doesnt keep things fresh. New content makes thing fresh. The corpus ships update didnt make corpus ships more exciting. The addition of Granum voids did.

Maybe a very very small part, but what rework to game-modes or tile-sets in the past has made the game less content island?

Ok, so the issue here is that it wouldnt have done any of that. It would have been no different that loading a railjack mission from the open world area. It wouldnt have been any less of a content island. If you could farm materials to make zaws or something in railjack, that would help, but just being able to go from one content island to another more seamlessly wouldnt have helped.

Spoiler alert, that was faked. It was a proof of concept on a closed network. It never actually worked for real.

Now I can see how you may think that DE never touches their old stuff, but thats because your only looking at major overhauls. There are constant little touch ups to the game, and while admittedly the last few years have been lacking reworks of all kinds, the devs even admitted this was because the New War was pulling too many resourses trying to get it done.

And yea, im still waiting on Arcwing 2.0, but i dont let that distract me from all the new things that have been added, and the touch-ups to old stuff. Incarnons seem new and shiny, but the adapters are ingame updates to exiting weapons.

Note that the Auto melee rework definitely design for mobile version. There's a big chance it's just allow you to attack while holding melee button and nothing else.

and double tap for heavy atk

Yup I think this is probably the case. I don't think I like it but am reserving judgement until I can experience it firsthand. I feel like it could make melee less enjoyable to use overall - make it feel less responsive - but it also might be a great QoL, idk.
