Mighty Tennos Retired

We were born to fight and defend the solar system. We are specialized killers defeating every opponent to save what must be saved. We fight with honor and pride. We fight as a team or alone with an arsenal of weapons. We are masters in strategic war.

But we got old. Our joints hurts. Our muscles are sore. We want to left everything behind and start new. Start something different. Every aspect of our skills can be used for something completely new - something different.

We retired to do what we are best now - we have become gardeners. We love these beautiful colors and smells. We love flowers and love to collect them. This is our new destiny. Running around, leaving no stone unturned to find our cute little pretty flowers.

Seriously, what is that for an event? We are space ninjas and we don't want to collect antitoxin flowers. This idea is so weird for me. And it doesnt even make that fun - it's just more grinding. It's like a mobile defense mission.
I am not a big fan of this, sorry DE.

Don't get me wrong - I really love wild vegetation maps with ruins, no clear ways and everything being a little bit #*($%%@ up.
I love that adventure feeling, love to explore a new map with all its discoveries.

But why collecting or taking pictures of (Thank you SabreUr) flowers?

The mission is on earth. Why not searching for an old human artifact? Maybe before mankind...wait what? What even happened to "us"?
Whatever - maybe before mankind become extinct, they discovered and old artefact to prevent their death (just assume we are all dead) but failed and now the Grineers want to find that. The new mission goal makes the Tenno to prevent them getting a powerful weapon/artifact/whatever.
And then we get ruins and all the stuff we love.

But collecting flowers (or making pictures of them) seems quite odd for me. But maybe it's only me.

I don't mind the collecting flowers bit......

If there were actual flowers to collect.

Every time I do a mission I get nothing but Threshcones.... every stinking time. And I look everywhere.

Oh, and DE...

That RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT GREEN GLARE with the Scanner needs to go. Seriously. How am I supposed to see ANYTHING scannable with that going on?

You aren't taking pretty pictures of flowers so we can join hands and sing kum-ba-ya by the fire next that Corpus Tech and that Grineer Scorpion.

You are analyzing strains of a piece of deadly chemical weapon to attempt to put something together to PRESERVE THE LEGACY OF THE OROKIN.

here, ill give you a direct comparison

Grinner are chopping apart an Orokin Created attempt at keeping life blooming on a war-ravaged world. =Cicero

Corpus are chopping apart an Orokin Created attempt at keeping life blooming in a war-ravaged solar system. =Zanuka

I REALLY liked the event, for a change. However I'd tone down the rarity of jadeleaf. Finding Jadeleaf is like korean MMO Gridfest level, expect on missions. Last night i spent nearly 6 hours (the WHOLE "night time") and found ONE Jadeleaf. And no, I don't think I missed it (though it is a possibility) because I was moving slow and checking everywhere (wich was one of the reasons I took nearly 6 hours).

That jadeleaf alone spoiled the event for me. it would be tons of fun if it could be found rather regularly (say once every 3 missions kind of thing) but as of right now, I'm definetly glad I'm done with the event. I hate grindfest stuff, and searching for Jadeleaf was a MASSIVE one (as I had to find two, a daylight one and a Moonlight one).

Just remembering gives me chivers, geez.

For me, it's not the rarity of the jade or anything. It's the effectiveness of the antitoxins themselves. They're not really effective at all. We'd be better off just blowing up the toxin delivery system with some one doing a bomb escort as if we were running a data mass. Even if we leveled the area with a bomb, the forest would grow back quickly as per the lore at this point. That's exactly what the plantlife was engineered to do after all.

I understand the story behind the event. I really do, I just chopped it down and make it look a little bit hilarious. Because that's what it is for me. Stating for me, I don't see why everyone should agree with me and it's fine for me, if you like that event.

See. It's not that creative and that's what I'm missing. It's not like it's blooming full of ideas - oh wait? what?

I prefer to think of it as a biology field trip of some sort, prancing through lush green forests, gathering flower samples and all that.

You know what kind of gardening WOULD be cool though? If after the event they allow the plants to stay, and players can still collect extracts, and then be able to use those extracts to plant the actual plants in the dojo gardens. Could even be expanded to other outdoor tilesets.

Btw - Didnt find any Jadeleaf either. I don't even know how they look like, maybe that's the thrill..

You can check the wiki if you want, images have been uploaded. And honestly, you CAN'T miss the night version. The day one though, bleh.

By the way, a common strategy right now is to enter a mission, search the first two tiles, and if there's nothing, abort and try again. It's kind of an exploit, but hey, when something's this reliant on RNG you don't really have to play fair.

OR, if you have a clan, it's entirely possible to have clannies play invite-only and post on the clan chat whenever they find a Jadeleaf, then have 3 others join. That's how I got my Day version.

So wait... if you scan anything and abort you lose the things that you scanned right? Any idea on how well this method actually works? I scanned all morning when I got off work and only found cones and a couple of lilies.

Well it's been working for just about everyone in the clan. I myself had the luck to have 2 Jadeleaves spawn on the first tile today while hunting at night, so it's entirely possible to find them within the first two tiles. But yes, if you abort, you lose everything you scanned in that mission, so if you do find Jadeleaves, you have to finish the run, otherwise abort+retry, simple as that.
