DE staff runs on scripted RNG First, x is rolled for a random value between 100 and 1000. This represents the seconds waited until step 2. When the timer = x, y is rolled between 1 and 1500. If it is 2 or less, DE will respond. The type of response is then decided. z is rolled for a random value between 1 and 15. If z equals 8 or lower, rebecca or Megan locks a thread. If it is between 9 and 14, they respond to a thread without locking. If it's 15, a thread is posted regarding hotfixes or other minutiae. If it's 16, its a new thread by DE_Steve. when the timer exceeds x, everything is triggered. x is multiplied by a random amount (between 1.0 and 1.5x), and the timer is reset back to 0. The way I see it, it's like we're children stretching out our arms to a parent. We desire their attention through many ways. We want this, we want that. And DE, trying to comfort us as much as possible, works hard in the background to bring us happiness. For that, we return attention to them by giving them some sort of purpose to work for.
