I'm not sure I like the Ancient redesigns...

Lol I did those in like a few minutes. I was trying to make them different from one another so the player could easily identify who's who at far distances.

Which ones would you like to be redone? I'm already redoing disruptor.

Oh... sorry if I created expectations for good feedback. That's actually all I had. =/

Like I said, I did like everything else, though.

No prob, I don't expect anything good from anyone unless they show it.

But what was the problem with the ancients? Too flashy?

About that...

Im sure it was supposed to some sort of crystals on the disruptors shoulders but it looks like candyfloss.

On RustyNap's behalf, this was the intended look for the shoulder nodes, since I asked the same question several pages ago:

ALSO the "Hives" are actually a morel mushrom stelprdb5306075.jpg I just didn't go into much detail with it :P

Lol don't worry, I'm getting rid of those and making the two horns on the end of his crown thingy longer to form a Jacobs Ladder of electrical doom.

And some other things :P

Added a new Mini-boss level infested to the list, the Cariplete (care-eh-plate). Still on the fence about it myself, but it is a concept, and this is a page for Infested unit concepts, so I figured I'd see if it's yay or nay instead of not posting it at all.

This also counts as a bump.

where are the stealth infested.  chameleon skinned buggers who can pop up right on top of u.  I drew one up for u.

ISeeWhatYouDidThere.jpg

I suppose the Leapers could count as a "stealthy" infested since they may lie in wait for you instead of attacking you head on, but you make a good point. I'll have to consider some kind of cloaked unit, even if it reminds me of Stalkers from Borderlands 2 which I hated so very much >:(

Oh my... *swoons*

And his Imperial Codex Entry! I did not make this up.

The Tyranid biomorph known as the Lictor (Tyranicus Chameleo) is a specialised evolutionary development of the Tyranid Warrior, highly adapted to a role as a scout in the vanguard of any Tyranid swarm's advance. Lictors move ahead of the swarm, seeking out pockets of resistance to be eradicated and native life forms to be absorbed. Able to move swiftly and without sound through even the densest terrain, and concealed by a chameleonic carapace that renders it all but invisible to the naked eye, a Lictor can remain hidden until it chooses to strike. It can wait motionless for days, unnoticed by its victims, an unseen herald of approaching disaster.

These opportunistic hunters tend to avoid confrontations where they would be outmatched, silently stalking their prey from the shadows. Stalking Lictors also serve another deadly purpose than simple slaughter; exuding a potent pheromone trail which draws other Tyranids to the slaughter. The larger the concentration of prey, the stronger the response and the more irresistible the lure. As scouts, Lictors are able to operate outside the Hive Mind's synaptic web, so they do not need to always remain close to a Tyranid synapse creature.

When the time comes to strike, Lictors are brutally efficient, with a whole arsenal of bio-weaponry that includes mantis-like claws, talons that can pierce steel, barbed flesh hooks and feeder tentacles. The feeder tentacles are tipped with sharpened bony plates that can pierce a victim's skull as easily as they can poke through eyeballs and sockets. They are used to lobotomise a victim so that the Lictor can swiftly devour its brain and absorb its memories in biochemical fashion. Thus, in death, the enemy reveals more to a Lictor than it ever did in life, betraying the whereabouts of comrades and revealing any weaknesses that might be exploited.

EXUSE THE CAPS, IM CURRENTLY STUCK IN CAPSLOCK.

I WAS EXPECTING TO SEE THE HIVEMIND FROM STARSHIP TROOPERS. FOR SHAME.

That's the second Starship Trooper comment I've gotten about the Hive Mind. Which is slightly strange considering how many times that name has been used for swarm factions. Anyway, sorry to disappoint :(

(personally was thinking of simplifying the name to just Ancient Hives. May keep expectations from getting to high as well).

I really hope DE sees this and considers putting them or something like them into Warframe. The current infected are so limited and boring, we could do with some more variety. The ideas and concepts here are pretty amazing and I don't think they could come up with something much better simply because these are too great to surpass. Even if they didn't implement them all, I hope they do with the mini-bosses and Guardian Golem at least. Sadly though if they consider this, I don't see an infested 2.0 coming for awhile, which means this might just get forgotten about and gather dust by the time it comes around.

Oh Paradoxbomb, Idk if we talked about Infested Warrior but here he is.

infested_warroir_by_rustynaps-d721tms.jp

Infested Warrior is an infected medium grineer unit who has had his arms fused together to form a large scythe. This creature uses it's scythe for attacking as well as defending.

Unlike regular infested, Infested Warriors have guerrilla tactics and only strike when convenient. They sprint at an alarming speed to close the distance and while they approach their target their scythe is raised buffering 40% of all gunfire without armor piercing or punch-through mods. Fortunately they can only block the head and the chest leaving their legs extremely vulnerable to gun fire.

Once the Infested Warrior is in melee range it'll juke around the Tenno (2-5 times) trying to disorient the target, then it goes in for a swipe. But the swipe has a 3 second charge up making the head extremely vulnerable thus giving the Tenno a clear shot. Shooting it during it's charge up will make it flinch and hop backwards from the target. Then Infested Warrior will try the juking process again.

OMFG you work full time for free??? Where do you find the time to work so hard.

one word for your work: A M A Z I N G

If you mean I work for DE, than sadly no. I'm just a humble gamer/artist/college student with little free time but procrastinates anyway ;)

I'm glad you like the content.

I will personally call Hive Fleet Jormungar to earth if you don't play AT LEAST Borderlands

Okay well I've definitely played Borderlands at least. Am even doing a playthrough of the second game with my sister, unfortunately at least one of us is usually busy so progress is slow :(

Hopefully this won't be completely forgotten. I'll admit my hopes aren't high since fan ideas from any game forum have like a .0000001% of influencing a game from my experience. However, DE seems to be a lot more open to player ideas than other companies I've seen, and even made a Warframe based on a fan concept, so it's at least worth keeping the thread afloat.

-snip-

Oh baby! I quite like this thing, a bit "intact" for a heavy infested but you know, nitpicking. I especially like the incorporation of the scythe, very prelude to Lephantis's Grineer head. This thing would make for a nice, fast cousin to the normally slow Golem Guardian.

Granted the named confused me for a split second, almost though you were suggesting I overhaul the Ancient Warrior until I realized "Ooooooooh, it says INFESTED warrior!" I almost want to suggest changing the name just to avoid confusion, but that's a minor issue. Will definitely add this to Player Suggestions.

EDIT: Should it be considered a heavy? I don't wanna give the wrong message, I just assumed it was since it sounds a lot more durable than your standard issue Charger.

It's actually a uncommon medium unit that pairs up with the common Infested Sieger medium unit which is also a somewhat intact Grineer lancer/trooper. Sieger's though are slower and lumber around, they make use of Dera's or Grakatas infused into their arm though they don't have very good accuracy.

I'm not quite sure what to rename it though. I'll come up with something.

BTW The new Ancient Disruptor and Crawler 2.0 might possibly get done today.
