Since it's not yet been mentioned though, Marelok is pretty much taken straight out of Terminator 2. Its stats even strongly suggest that it was intended to be a shotgun, once upon a time. Methanoid Posted June 25, 2014 Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) if we wanna goto weird lengths then the Corrupted have that weird head ornament controlling them, this would remind me of the old game Paradroid in which you played as an "Influence Device" which could take control of other droids. also the infested have that doom3/dead space kinda vibe, which is no bad thing. dunno why but Vey Hek always reminds me of Baron Harkonen from the original Dune film for some reason, probably the fat ugly face. darthdart Posted June 25, 2014 Share Posted June 25, 2014 Some of the grineer units sound like enemies from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Like, exactly like them. Enough that I actually looked up some info about to see if I could find the voice actor info for either this game or the KOTOR stuff and find a link. Didn't. I still think one of the grineer units sounds just like one of the characters from KOTOR, I don't really care if the devs themselves deconfirm it. Ember Prime looks a lot like Fire Man from Mega Man Rhino with a Vanguard helmet sort of looks like Iron Man with Iron Skin on Hydroid looks like Cthulu or Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean The Grineer mines remind me a lot of Resident Evil 4 mines Valkyr with the bastet helmet looks a lot like Zero from Mega Man X series Banshee's Reverb helmet looks a lot like Mega Man X from the side There are more, I just can't think of them right now. If nothing else, I would say that both the Knights and Lancers in this case are derived from similar concepts.
