ntyd1s
Just noticed a huge performance drop (up to -30% framerate) from looking at many of these glossy railings at the same time. Something wrong with the shader draw loop optimization? Sample shots from my observation: *Looking directly at many railings 44fps: *Same spot looking away 58fps:
[DE]Rebecca
Hmmm, can you turn of "Local Reflections" in settings and let me know if you see same FPS drop? This is the 'old' dojo tile set and I'm not sure what optimizations will be made in this regard but I will ask.
ntyd1s
Okay... O_O! 230fps I guess the Local Reflection might have taken some more processing power than before. Didn't remember getting such choppy framerate here since recently. Some of the surface materials are shared with the Void Tower right? I still see minor changes applied to them from time to time. This is the 'old' dojo tile set and I'm not sure what optimizations will be made in this regard but I will ask. Local reflections have been causing a major issue with fps since update 14.6.0, personally it made me go from 60 fps to 20 and below, and I had no such issue with it before the update this week
Monolake
Feels to me like the environment mapping is causing performance drops, even with reflections off wherever you have environment mapping it slows down Earth levels are back to 20 fps for me ( Edited September 11, 2014 by Monolake
[DE]Glen
Please try local reflections in current update -- I tweaked it again.

Oberon-Prime
dx9, 10 or 11? what graphics card do you have? Using an Nvidia card, dx9 with local reflections on still tanks fps, dx10 and 11 seem to be fine like they were before Edited September 12, 2014 by -CM-SilentCoin
Angelus_de_Mortiel
dx9, 10 or 11? what graphics card do you have? I will do some more in-depth testing, but I do not notice any performance drop with local reflections using a nVidia GTX 6-series and DX11. As reported previously, it appears to occur with DX9 only. [DE]Glen
I recommend against running Dx9 if you can help it; to maintain comparability with min-spec Dx9 we can't do some things that make it faster on Dx10 and 11.
Monolake
I have very notable drops in large areas like this http://i59.tinypic.com/fbdl3m.jpg even with all the fx off (except DOF) Didn't feel any slowdowns just a couple updates ago. EvanTheNewbie
Never realized how much of a tole local reflections take on my game. I usually play with 60 fps, that dips to 40 a lot. Turning it off, I'm at 60 fps constantly, no matter how much clutter is on the screen. I'll miss using it since it looked so good, but a flat 60 fps is too good to pass up. [DE]Glen
Glen, easy solution - revert back "local reflections" settings/ params from 14.5 = done :p Sadly the 14.5 code for dx9 was not compatible with all dx9-cards and had to be changed. Either run Dx9 with LR off or DX10+ with LR on.
Shehriazad
It's just that 14.6 made it horrible even in DX11 mode. Some parts on the liset(Yes, THE LISET) made me drop below 30....and generally it runs in there with 150+.That's not the fault of weak hardware...if my FPS after a patch goes from 150 to 30 then I would either expect that this game suddenly looks like Far Cry 4 or that you messed up somewhere. umbraldoge
Yeah... Im running Direct 11 with a GeForce GT 550m and this is the laptop version. Im still getting bad FPS with the local reflections off. >_>
Visoroth
Tbh you could be like me I've had fps drops since u14 =/. I used to be able to play with at least some affects on but now I Have to turn them all off. Granted my laptop is old which is why I reduced the effects in the first place so i could get 30fps. But after u14 I had to turn it all off just to get that. S#&$ty deals.
Taikaponi
dx9, 10 or 11? what graphics card do you have? Running DX11 with GeForce GTX 650 and my FPS goes down from 90 to 30 when turning local reflections on with max settings.
Issun135
I'm doing ok, hovering around 60 with an i5-4670k and an evga gtx 760 SC. But I used to be at 120-150 everywhere (with everything maxed)
