TennoPain
News is if we don't spend at least 5 bucks on STEAM u wont be able to use most of the functions on steam my question is what will happen to STEAM/warframe items ? Will they still be usable even if we did not invest money in steam ??? WHAT DOES IT MEAN ??? Edited April 20, 2015 by TennoPain
Alphafox
Where did you see that? You can't claim something like that without a source. On a side note there isn't anything outstanding that you can do with steam beside, buying platinum, which shouldn't be a problem. Rakosta_Kai
It's a fact I saw it in a new alert yesterday. It only affects new accounts though.
TennoPain
I saw it on NEWs portal local one. I can link you that but its on my native language (Im not trolling or anything) Edited April 20, 2015 by TennoPain
Valiant
It's not exactly hard to spend around 5 'bucks' on Steam really so I can't see it being a big problem. I don't see how it's 'RIP' Steam either. Also, good. If it reduces the amount of level 0 private profile bot friend invites I get, I'm fine with it. The invites are rather irritating. Endrance
You will not lose S#&$. Warframe is a game that you MAY play by steam, there is no specific restriction on it. Having a Steam account 100% working, or the "new", will not affect.

Calm down and stop overreacting like some sort of child. Have you bought stuff on Steam? If so, what is the issue? MechNexus
This is true, but there's more to it. Activating a retail/promotional CD key on steam also counts, as does simply adding $5 to your steam wallet. So, just buy some plat through steam and bish bash bosh you're done. nickelshark
Apparently it affect your privileges to use social functions like joining a group. It should not affect items you bought though.

Gelkor
News is if we don't spend at least 5 bucks on STEAM u wont be able to use most of the functions on steam my question is what will happen to STEAM/warframe items ? Will they still be usable even if we did not invest money in steam ??? WHAT DOES IT MEAN ??? It means if you haven't ever spent at least 5 bucks on something in Steam (anything at all) then you can't spam messages and invites to people through Steam and you can't make S#&$ty unity asset games to try to sell on steam. It does nothing to your ability to play Warframe whatsoever.
MechNexus
Apparently it affect your privileges to use social functions like joining a group. It should not affect items you bought though. As far as I am aware, the full restrictions are: Sending friend requests Trading Using the steam market Essentially, stuff spambots and the like use. Gelkor
As far as I am aware, the full restrictions are: Sending friend requests Trading (on steam) Using the steam market Essentially, stuff spambots and the like use. Just added to clarify as OP is acting like chicken little, this doesn't do anything to Warframe, just your Steam social tools.

RIOT
IIRC any free2play games on steam that support the trading card system will require you to pay a minimum of 5$ towards the game in order to be eligible for the cards, which in my opinion is fair. edit: delete my post. others have already stated what I said and more. Spindle99
Finally, glad steam are taking action on this. It took them way too long. Users will now need to spend at least $5 on the Steam store before they can: Send friend invites Open group chat Vote on Greenlight, Steam Reviews and Workshop items Participate in the Steam Market Post frequently in the Steam Discussions Gain Steam Profile Levels (Locked to level 0) and Trading Cards Submit content on the Steam Workshop Post in an item's Steam Workshop Discussions Access the Steam Web API Use browser and mobile chat
TheErebus.
This is the full list of restrictions: Sending friend invites Opening group chat Voting on Greenlight, Steam Reviews and Workshop items Participating in the Steam Market Posting frequently in the Steam Discussions Gaining Steam Profile Levels (Locked to level 0) and Trading Cards Submitting content on the Steam Workshop Posting in an item's Steam Workshop Discussions Accessing the Steam Web API Using browser and mobile chat A little bit on insight: http://www.pcgamer.com/new-steam-policy-limits-low-spending-accounts-to-curb-scams-and-spam/ In short, spend 5 bucks on whatever and the restrictions will be lifted. So no, It isn't the end of steam. So keep the RIP steam titles and tags in your pockets.
