Stealth Hydroid Change In 17.2.6, Its A Step In The Right Direction De, Keep Going!

lately ive been playing alot of hydroid, and i noticed a very particular change that occured in 17.2.6, that im not sure was listed in the patch notes.

basically, tentacle swarm is now aimable, and is now spawned at wherever hydroid is aiming, as opposed to before, where upon cast it always spawned at your current location.

this is a great and welcome change, as it is adds a significant amount of functionality to the ability without removing any, as it can still be easily used as it was before, simply by aiming straight down before you cant the ability.

hydroid is honestly in a terrible place right now, being both hard to acquire and utterly useless when compared to literally any other frame. but with a few quality of life fixes, can be a very spectacular frame, so while you are at changing him, any of the following changes would also be helpful.

-make his 1/4 one handed (can cast while aiming/reloading)

-hydroid naturally regenerates his own health while in his 3 (augment still allows it to apply to others)

-make his 1/4 recastable (limited amount of instances, similar to snow globe)

-imo his 2 should be redone entirely, ideally into something that does the following

hydroid summons an impenetrable wall of water, then propels it forward, with it creating a small explosion upon contact with any surface or enemy (not an ally) or after traveling for a certain duration. any contact with the wall of water or its explosion will damage and ragdoll the enemy and propel them slightly

these changes would be very simple to add and would improve hydroid significantly, and give him an actual role in the squad as an area of denial/caster and make him a fun combo of volt/vauban

thoughts?

IDK what you're talking about hydroid has one of the best invulnerable phases in his 3 and his 1 is one of the most powerful in the game next to shuriken. his 2 and 4 are kinda lame however. I wish there was an augment for swarm that spawned many more little ones like zephyr's tornado augment.

Several statements in the OP are factually questionable, and several others are patently false. Player is clearly ignorant of Hydroid. The reticle has always determined where TS and TB drop.

The Edits to Hydroid may or may not be necessary, but actually study Hydroid before you decide he needs a change.

Tentacle Swarm, like Tempest Barrage, always cast on where you point since Hydroid was released. If you haven't discovered that on your first few times playing Hydroid, I wonder if you point to the ground or face a wall every time you've cast Tentacle Swarm before today, because that's the only way the tentacles would spawn around you.

Hydroid is actually worse off nowadays because Undertow is affected by Range mods. Max range gives a very tiny boost to pool size, while low range takes away any semblance of area denial Undertow is designed for (ironically the best way to build Hydroid is with low range).

They have always been aimable.

The problem with TS is that it the tentacles always look at where they can spawn and depending on the room they some times they cant spawn where you are aiming at.

The power doesnt simply go off it actually looks at where it can spawn first.

Tentacle Swarm was always aimable.

I had a hearty laugh at the "did you guys just start playing hydroid today?" comment.

Someone who claims to be seasoned with the frame and doesn't even understand how it works.

How embarassing. Even worse that they got indignant about it.

This is why the feedback forum is so entertaining.

It's like a clown car except instead of lots of clowns piling out, its players who dont actually understand the basic mechanics of the game. One by one they emerge, making threads like these and honking on their horn shoes and wiggling their rainbow afros.
