DE's solution (and the solution of other developers, like Blizzard) is to FORCE people to go there to populate it. These people aren't there to socialize, they're there because they have to be, but this is treated as being the same thing. They get in, they get out, and there is no social aspect to it whatsoever. I don't think forcing population is a good idea, because it accomplishes absolutely nothing. There are people who use it as a social area, and that's great. But with such a small minority choosing to do it, you end up with relays populated by a very, very small number of social players, and a large number of people just passing through to talk to Simaris. But what would make you actually want to go to a relay? How do you entice people to choose to go there? And is it necessary? I personally find there's too many instances, spreading the already thin population. But on top of that, there's not enough to engage in if you're there to socialize. Where's the duel room? The minigames? The totally legal gambling ring? If relays had space poker I'd be there all day. Excluding the people who don't want to socialize at all, and the ones who like it how it is; what would make you want to hang out in a relay? A system where you can start a competition, put in a reward pool and vote on contestants would work really well imo. Except socialising, if you enjoy it. You might not do those things all the time, but it's a steady stream of people doing it, like a staggered flow. The problem is constant. They wouldn't play one after another, and they don't trigger.all the time so it doesn't get annoying. I want to see NPCs move around more and interact with things. I want to see a room of Tenno doing Nartas, or a group of Tenno running through Stance Kata with weapons. I'd like a room to see the Tenno Council I am kind of irked that our tests are handled by Simaris and The Lotus instead of a group of the current greatest and most experienced Tenno active in the system. I'd like to see the Tenno Artisans, tirelessly creating skanas, latos, orthos, and other weapons within the game. I'd love to be able to talk to them to see about upgrading weapons from base to Hunter or Dragon. I'd love to just Stand in front of the Lotus, outside my warframe, just so I can look her in the eye and ask myself that we are doing the right thing I want to see Archwing Launchbays for Formorian Defenses of the relays, it'd be cool to get shot out of a giant launch rail with 8 other Tenno to stop super Formorian. A nice quick 3 part trial. Archwing assault, A massive 2k+ exterminate, and a 2 part sabotage that starts in Warframe, and Ends in Archwing. I want to see a Restricted Sublevel for Tenno readjusting to Life outside of a Transference Module, and getting some much-needed downtime. The Lotus would likely have a room here. She would move from relay to relay randomly. I would love to Challenge Teshin to a sparring match. Or maybe even just expanding the relay to be more like a city, I want it to feel more alive.
