Will The Moon Still Be Around ?

The Moon is held together by raw Void energy and an enormous Orokin megastructure - perhaps their seat of power at the height of their empire, so no. The only bits of Lua that are collapsing are the bits that were hit by the brunt of the Void energy when the Moon - also known as Lua - was pulled out of the Void.

You should've played the Second Dream before looking this up, because this is partially spoiler material.

Update 0.0.01: Further explanation.

Also, because of how the Moon was abruptly pulled out of the Void, time has gone a bit [sideways?], resulting in it perpetually collapsing, but nothing actually collapsing as it has already collapsed, but it hasn't collapsed yet.

This logic is similar to the 'impossible space' logic Orokin Tower-ships use when submerged in the Void. Also, if we ever wanted to rebuild it into a thriving city, we would need to devote many Clans worth of resources into revitalizing and expelling Grineer, Corpus, and most importantly, Hunhow, from it. Maybe the reward for this would be:

Spoiler

1: A new social space with corridors that are randomly generated per instance, with small pockets of Corrupted, Grineer, Corpus, and a patrol of Sentient fighters randomly finding themselves in your way. Think of this as a 'pocket-sized' Plains of Eidolon using the random tiles system.

2: Clan Void Portal opening to a Clan-held Orokin tower, enabling a limited custom mission system.

3: Some rare Orokin cosmetic items for Warframes, Tenno, their Landing Craft, maybe even an 'Orbiter Prime' interior redeco?

Beyond taking the Moon for colony reasons and preserving Tenno secrets, there's no real reason. Unless there's something else we forgot about regarding Lua, perhaps related to Umbra, Primes, and Warframes in general?

Why would we rebuild it anyway? The only reason it isn't in the Void anymore is because of what happens in the Second Dream, and even now, if we exclude anyone who hasn't done at least the Second Dream which I hope would be only a minority of active players, with the Operator being full time in the Orbiter we really wouldn't even need the moon anymore ourselves, we just have to go back every now and then because the Grineer and Corpus also realized that it was back.

There are a few things to consider.

1) Microgravity of Lua's chunks. Abastant major tidal forces from other large bodies, those chunks of Lua should eventually merge together again due to microgravity and their own mass. Parts that are "crumbling" aren't falling "away" from the Lua. They would be falling into Lua and repacking.

2) The impact of Earth's gravity. Because Earth is so close and so massive, it has its own impact on those fragments, which should eventually cause then to destabilize their current orbit and end up in new ones (crash, or be flung outward). The most likely case would be Earth ending up with 3 or 4 small moons and a thin ring for a while.

3) Orokin terraforming space magic. Venus has a cold clear skied habitable surface. Mars is a livable desert with both flora and fauna, and isn't being scoured by radiation. We have clear evidence of Artifical Gravity in use by every current major faction, and most minor ones. We don't know all things the Orokin mega structures ringing around and through Lua are doing, but clearly they've been holding it together for quite some time.

When you take all 3 together, especially #3, no Lua isn't going anywhere.
