Please Remove 24hr Cooldown on Mastery Test Failure

Again I find myself in a position where Mastery is locked off because of the idiotic nature of this stupid cooldown. Again I ask, why is this is even in the game? It serves no purpose except to anger people. Frankly I would completely remove mastery tests because they are equally pointless, but can you just get rid of that stupid cooldown? After failing MR11 twice, I'm pretty sick of putting up with it. I wonder if DE even understands that it makes me NOT WANT TO PLAY THE GAME! If I'm not playing the game, they aren't going to be getting any money from me.

 

Things to NOT reply to this message with.

Telling me to practice. I have practiced MR11, for several hours and passed it many times. I failed it during qualify because the penalty for failure is causing me to mess up.

Telling me what Warframe to use. I don't need advice, I need DE to take this pointless cooldown out of the game.

Telling me to watch a video. See the last point.

Telling me to "Git Gud". Because that is an insult.

Telling me that "I did it just fine." I really don't care about that, it doesn't make the 24 hour cooldown fair.

Telling me that "I don't have a problem with it." or anything similar. If you're just coming in here to white knight, you are not helping.

 

The only thing I really want to see is some kind of official response telling me that "Yes this is going away" or "No and here's a legitimate reason why."

This topic has been treated times and times again. 

Mastery tests are to put you on the edge, it is only normal you can't spam them en masse until you win it, otherwise it would be pointless. 

They won't be removed either because DE took their time to create them, they might be cheesy, but they are here so we need to go through it. That is called, putting up with developers decision.

It's a stupid decision, and mastery rank is already pointless. I'll be fine with them just getting rid of the cooldown. I don't want to be "on edge", that's not fun.

The chances of it not happening is very likely since this system was in the beginning of the game and was never botherd to be reworked. This Mr 24 hr cool just shows that you need some work and that within this 24 hrs you should practice on passing it . So stop complaining and start practicing to pass the test to become a true ninja

They serve no realistic purpose in the game.

They lock you out of weapons.

They are frustrating and not at all fun.

They make people quit and why would DE want to lose customers?

I'd ask if that's good enough for you, but I'm pretty sure you're a fanboy and nothing I say will convince you that this mechanic is bad for the game.

I mean, they put the practice thing in there for a reason, because there used to not be an option for that, and most of us who leveled up before we could practice just went in and hoped that we didn't bomb it. Even me at MR 24, I still practice for my tests now. I will sit there and practice for as long as it takes, trying new weapons and Warframes until I can get a success on the practices at least a few times in a row so that I know that the first success wasn't just a lucky fluke.

Do understand that we know that the 24-hour cooldown is annoying; people that have played for many years know the frustration probably more than anyone else. But I'm telling you man, please use that practice option. That's the best thing they've put into the game in regards to mastery tests. If you're doing well with practices but failing on qualify, that means you're messing up somewhere that you should work on in practices. Try new weapons or Warframes to help you. I used Zephyr when I did mine a few years ago, but nowadays, you can even cheese it with Titania and fly the entire way, only needing to shoot a couple orbs on your way there.

There are plenty of ways to succeed; posting a thread and demanding that no one assist you with your issues is pointless. The cooldown will most likely not be removed, and that's fine with me. I had to deal with it before I could practice my tests; you guys can deal with it since you now have this option for all of yours.

It is also called game progression. Thousands of other Tenno have had to endure the tests. They have tested their metal and succeeded.

 

Why should you get special treatment? Viable solutions have been posted in other similar threads. They work. Find one that works for you. 

Above all don't sweat it. RELAX. Take a deep breath and carry on. If DE let us burn through content then there would be complaints that there is nothing to do.

Oh wait... That is the case for vets as it stands now. What so we do as vets? We try to help out new Tenno. 

Otherwise sorry  DE does not hold our hands, it does not spoon feed us. It leaves us to figure out things for ourselves and give us some small challenge.

Sir, take those tests as an Exam to get into a college. (obviously not that serious), if you fail, you can take it again at another time, but at the chancce they give you, not when you want, with these tests are like that, after you earn it, lotus gives you a chance to apply to a new mastery rank, if you fail you can wait until she allows you to take that test again.

I don't see what is the problem with waiting 24 hours. If that is a reason for you to "NOT WANT TO PLAY THE GAME!" well ... progress in games takes some work, sometimes you just need patience and in this game you need tons of it.

your being locked out because the game has a test in which you must pass so that you can unlock the content. Basically not trying to be mean but you have to be good enough to learn to pass the test. IF you have no patient stop playing warframe now. 24 hrs is the least of the worst. It takes 3 days for research and dojo and much more stuff beyond that. So stop COMPLAINING

For the 60th time, I already practiced the test, I already passed it several times on practice. I flubbed it because the threat of cooldown put me on tilt.

Also I'm pretty sure I asked people not to respond with. "I'm fine with it, therefore you should be also." I don't give a crap if you're okay with it, I'm not.

If I was unclear about that, I'm making it clear now.

I'm not asking for special treatment, I'm asking for common sense. This is a video game, not a military training exercise. There's no reason to have this cooldown looming over me and I can't relax with something like that looming over me.

Honestly your opinion as a "vet" doesn't mean a damn thing to me.

Not a valid reason, a feature that makes one person quit and attracts 10 new players will still be kept in the game. Also, I'd like to see a statistic of how many people really quit because of a MR test.

This is not progression, this is idiocy. I have less problem with my college tests than these stupid tests. If my video game is more stressful than my college courses, something has clearly gone wrong.

It's not a great system, but it's not a bad system. Takes longer to research weapons in Dojos, and there are some weapons that take 24 hours to build.

It's a time wall that makes players come back the next day, similarly to a forma you're building. It's to encourage players to sign in the next day if they failed to try again, and games like this run on how many people log in per day.

That's all it is.

ok if the threat of the cooldown is making you fail then just focus on something else while doing them or listen to some music to concentrate, the cooldown exists to give you a fail state otherwise its you fail instantly try again which would make them pointless to exist since there is no consequence to failing.

That's the thing - it quite clearly isn't bad for the game, it's bad for you. The staggering majority of players (ya know, over a million people who've done Mastery tests) don't have any issues with it whatsoever, implying that it isn't really bad overall. 

The ONLY problem I can see here is that you're frustrated that you can't pass the test. I have failed 2 tests, a single time each (I think MR 11 was one of them, actually). I used that day practicing each until I could do them blindfolded. I subsequently passed the tests and have since moved on with my life because it's not actually a big deal. Certainly not worth being upset over. 

"I already practiced the tests" "You're just a fanboy" "Don't tell me you're fine with it, I told you not to say that". I care for those responses about as much as you care for the previous ones. If you want a legitimate change, then make a thread listing facts, providing good arguments and reasoning and not simply your annoyance, because that's all this one is. 

 

Also, as ALGMiniscule36 pointed out, it's an F2P. Some things are designed to make you wait.
