Hello there,

So recently I have finally managed to acquire the Oxium needed for Zephyr since everybody who had her said she was a lot of fun. In this thread I want to knuckle down the main things I was visually disappointed with after acquiring her.

 

I believe that she could be a step in the first direction in getting frames that have side animations which are small but happen according to your actions, making them feel more dynamic and alive in the element they focus in. -maybe more frames would need this

 

The black bits that we cannot color should represent parts that are almost separate from the frame itself.

 

Arm Pieces

These should be tucked in and come out when you are using her first ability. When gliding from a jump it should come out half way.

Gliding Animation

Ok, maybe this will get looked at when most movement animations are getting looked at as Zephyr is not the only one with this issue.

 

There should be some animation when you jump and move around or you glide down from her first ability. Just being crouched in the air looks extremely awkward.

 

Chest pieces

These again, should be tucked in together, coming out when you are using Turbulence or your shield went down. Coming out half way when getting hit from the front.

Shin pieces

These should come out when you are using her first ability. As well as when flying backwards from a knockback (such as Jackal).

Calf Pieces

These should come out when you are using her first ability as well as coming out half way when sprinting.

Back Pieces
These should be tucked in together, coming out when you are using Turbulence or your shield went down. Coming out half way when getting hit from the back.

I appreciate the dangly bits on her default helmet! :D
 
I just feel like these changes could make her feel more dynamic. Like I said, maybe more frames should receive a visual overhaul to add small animations :/

*Yawns* I dont see anything wrong on Zephyr`s visual. I play her the whole time and loved her look from the very moment she came out.

I understand that, but the dark bits just feel too static. They should be a little more dynamic, she's really cool visually but I don't know maybe this is just me :S

I read all of that and all I can think in reply is that your Zephyr looks like her "skin" was ripped from her body. If that was the intended effect, bravo.

 

Nice points. However why did you eviscerated zephyr?

My color scheme for Zephyr is still a work in progress ;D

Oh, also, I hate that you post your suggestions as How To's as if your way has been deemed the correct way. It's assuming quite a bit that even the community is going to agree with you (as you can see above) much less that the DE staff will agree with you.

Hmm, I understand what you mean, but they are suggestions as to how DE could do certain things. For example, "how to fix melee combat" suggests how DE could fix it. Maybe some clarification of my intentions should be in place but I thought it was pretty clear :)

I understand that, and please don't take the hate comment personally. I "hate" pretty much anything that irks me. Like I said, it's just assuming too much.

Zephyr looks nice. Only her default color makes people think it's an agile/water type frame.

 

If you want to have a nice visual on Zephyr, color her resembles a real-life bird. A Sparrow, for exampe.

I have a feeling you did not read my thread.

 

Her model is really nice and detailed but I suggested things to improve her (not modifying the model by much).

yes, I've read your thread. What I meant is, Zephyr by design is good looking frame, nothing wrong with that. But her default color makes her looks like a fish than a bird.

 

Yes, I know it's a totally unrelated reply.
