  1. You will make it if you protect it, the problem is it can't take much exterior damage at all so you have to be SUPER aggressive with your clear. We cleared it with a hair left, but somewhere on round 2 it ate a chunk of damage or we would have done better. Also try to space out your glyph pickups because grabbing them stops the health drain for a few seconds. Rushing to grab them all when they don't heal for beans is counterproductive - I definitely would have done that differently if I ran again.
  2. Go to them when they spawn and kite them away from the defense target. If you are in a public run tell your teammates not to stand near the target. I ran it with a friend and they just got them to sit on his necromech most of the time. Still with everything else going on we only barely cleared the defense, but we managed it.
  3. I think it's pretty obvious at this point that Kite is as far from a normal endgame player as you can find. They have more to leverage at their disposal than even a typical LR3/4. I frankly would not take their measure of "ez" seriously.
  4. Edit: not excusing design issues here, just giving tips, take that as you will. Yes it's still possible to get completely screwed in your selection and have to go for lesser rewards or get carried. Keep in mind that you don't need to have everything active to get all the meaningful rewards. The last vosfor reward is crap intentionally. Each player on your team can pick one weapon or warframe to help, and that is enough to make this much more tolerable (or if your gear is good, drop one of the personal modifiers, like ammo or transference). If you get the ammo modifier you can bring a kitgun with pax charge and make that a non issue. Also, as has been mentioned, spawn your necramechs before the boss fight and use them there for as long as you can keep it alive to help shorten the fight. It's still going to be long, because of damage attenuation, but it's very doable. I got lucky and got mirage this week, which made the add clear in the boss room trivial despite also having the ammo and gear restrictions - and my mirage isn't even using any corrupted mods. Then I used my ammo exclusively on the boss as much as possible. We also had a dante, which was fantastic for keeping us safe with overguard. The added eximus actually made energy less of an issue because more drops. It was a slog to get through the boss' health but otherwise it was honestly some of the most fun I've had in a warframe fight in a long time (and really sold me on finishing building mirage 😄). That said, I don't mind a long boss fight that much - I just wish damage attenuation wasn't how it is done because it feels too artificial. I was ranting last week about the unlock requirements for Elite, and I still think that needs adjusting, because it's stupid that viability is based on RNG. And a lot of modifier combos need looking at. But this particular fight is doable, people are just still getting used to the system and not preparing properly in pubs. It's absolutely possible to carry (slowly) if you get either a good frame or good weapon and can bring the other.
  5. That is literally all this is. With the right gear and modifiers, it's mostly a normal mission/sortie/archon hunt. If you have someone who can carry you because they've already done it for the week and can just run a meta loadout, it's extra easy. If you have a couple good but off meta for the activity options, it's a fun challenge. If you get nothing but MR fodder and especially if you haven't unlocked Elite yet, but don't want to be a hard carry, you're SoL. That is the problem, the difficulty itself is mostly RNG. There's also a weird disconnect where people think just because something is easy for them, it's easy for everyone and therefor bad content. I was hoping for something more like GMs in Destiny - yes they can be "easy" for a good team, but that team still has to build out properly, coordinate, play smart, and not just try to leeroy jenkins every room. That would be a nice change of pace to have to do once a week in Warframe.
  6. Fantastic breakdown. 50% was way too heavy of a nerf. Whenever you touch radial abilities you have to also realize that if you cut the radius of a circle in half, you are cutting it's circle of effective area by 3/4 - or for the sphere, 7/8. Since elevation is sometimes, though not always a factor depending on tile that means the actual effectiveness hit is somewhere between those two. That is huge, and that is why people feel like it makes spears useless. You can't even hit half the enemies you did previously. Also, none of this accounted for the fact that spears are useless against a LOT of end game enemies these days due to overguard and eximus loading. It was just for clearing out fodder, which a large number of frames and weapons can nuke (as it is I already run around on Nezha with just atamos incarnon and clear rooms easily - I had fun playing with this build but it honestly wasn't any more effective in most of the content I play - late SP and netracells). Brozime's example run on Kuva Fortress has actually become an outlier that's not representative of the current state of the game (which is why he's talking about changing that).
  7. So turns out, I did not check my loadout options after yesterday's daily reset (cause I didn't know that was bugged)... well, I'm glad I found out, cause my new loadout options included... Glaive (?!), and Sobek, which I have a very good riven for. So in the end I was able to unlock Elite without being a boat anchor (after three tries with pub groups), but it was really only because that bug gave me a lucky break. And on Elite I get pick one frame or weapon since I don't care about the Vosfor. With just that one degree of freedom, the mode feels notably less punishing due to the RNG, and weirdly makes Elite the easier mode (finished my Elite run first try and with only three people). So now, after completing that, I feel like first and foremost that the Elite unlock needs to be changed. Either it needs to only require 20 research, because frankly Elite isn't *that* much harder than normal to justify the lockout, or it should be unlocked for everyone automatically above a certain MR. (or both). In the meantime I think I might just help carry people through unlocking.
  8. It's two pulses, not 4, and the common arcanes are not in the drop pool (either for this or netracells). You can get basic arcanes from enemies like gruzzlings (on the non-disruption missions). No you didn't, because melee exposure isn't in the drop pool. You got that off an enemy (probably gruzzling drop as mentioned above). The diamond tier elite drop is only Crescendo/Duplicate or a tauforged. The general melee arcanes are not in the netracell pool either and haven't been since the Dante patch.
  9. I do genuinely appreciate that attitude in this particular instance. But that doesn't really change the fact that it shouldn't be necessary and is counter to the whole "this is the hardest content, gear up and bring a team!" concept. And I certainly don't want to feel forced to be "that guy" ;)
  10. They could have one item in each slot machine row be guaranteed to be something you have at least one forma and a potato in at the time of reset. That alone would at least mean you are more likely to have something that can at least kill a 300+ enemy without guaranteeing a single loadout. The net as it is now is too wide and means too many players in the party are just looking for a carry, that's not a viable design.
  11. I'd be fine with that, for me at least even a couple rerolls would likely give me something I could use. Right now I'm just annoyed because I've been waiting to try this with my one friend that still plays Warframe for weeks, and I can't even be bothered, cause I'd just be a boat anchor if we actually played to win. And it's for an incredibly stupid reason based in bad game design that clearly wasn't properly play tested. I was looking forward to a challenge, but not a "HAHAHAHA, nope not for your this week."
  12. I have thousands of hours in this game and almost everything unlocked. I can't even try Archimedea for anything beyond the base rewards, which I could get faster just by playing Netracells (which I can easily solo with several different loadouts). Every single weapon option I've been provided by the slot machine is MR fodder that isn't even viable in Steel Path - none of it could kill a single 300+ disruption enemy even without all the modifiers, and no way I'm wasting materials on these guns for one mission. The Warframe options I've been provided are all frames that I hate and that don't have strong enough abilities to make up for the lack of viable weapons. I could just load up with all this garbage and hope to find a team that can carry me while I hide in the corner to unlock Elite, but I'm not that kind of a player, and I despise people who are. The fact that this design encourages that kind of play where people just join and leave over and over until they find someone who can carry them is just the icing on the "I don't want to play this" cake. The core idea of this mode is great, but the RNG thing needs to go in the trash can, or Elite needs to be unlockable with one frame and weapon that are chosen by the player (or even just one weapon, something that can at least be viable to kill things at this level so you aren't a complete detriment to your team.). This is an insult to the investment that end game players have put into this game.
  13. Literally the marketing for this game for years has been to play how you want. Stop trying to make RNG loadouts work when most of the gear in the game is garbage BY DESIGN. I thought this game mode was Pablo's baby, I feel like he of all people should know that most of the gear in the game doesn't scale for crap.
  14. I just went to check out my gear for the week and there isn't a single weapon that is usable in steel path, much less this. even IF I invested a ton of materials in them, which I'm not going to do. What's the point of having an activity that isn't even worth playing if your RNG is bad (which, with the amount of fodder in this game, is going to be most weeks). And if my friends have good options but I don't? I either don't play with them or ask them to carry me while I hide in the corner? This one aspect of the game mode completely ruins any incentive to play, horrible design. At least Duviri has decrees that after a few waves can make even fodder usable in steel path. This is genuinely unplayable if you want to unlock elite or get the best rewards. Far better off most weeks just doing the netracells.
  15. Xbox wireless controller. It has high compatibility with games on iPad and has frequently been on sale lately. I've tested it on the iPad and it works mostly the same as on console/PC. You can try anything that works with the iPad, but these are almost always the safest bet for mobile ports.
