Today i got here and seen the new patch notes saying that to get a research for you, now you gotta earn the rank of the Fabricator.

Now im not sure about other people but soo far i have never seen someone who searched for a clan for the sole purpose of getting into that community.

Clans essentially dont have any purpose, the only reason to justify their existance is the some blueprints locked inside them and thats it, for every clan out there existing to create an actuam community, a small family, there are ten more existing for the sole purpose of researching some stuff and thats it.

The question is why does it has to be this way? Why is it that warframe clans fails to achieve their purpose?

Because DE doesn't do clan leaderboard events anymore and turned off Dark Sectors four years ago and haven't brought them back. I too long for clans to be something more than a friends list, market, and decoration simulator

They dont have purpose cuz DEVS dont have any good ideas how to make the clans to be worth.

If u remember they are turn off Solar Rail system along time ago, now clans are empty cuz u go there just to replicate crapy weapons and exit from them and thats all. Something new coming soon and that is Railjack and I hope so they will add only access to that crap from Dojo, not directly from orbiter wich can attract all players that they coming together in Dojo and play, but I'm doubt. Dojo also doesnt have purpose cuz DEVS are add everything to solar system, alerts, sorties, fortuna, PoE, missions on planets all that is in one place.

They can make Dojo much more attractive for players if they split access from orbiter to Dojo, but that is on them, we can only shiit about that, and argues why they dont do something useful.

But only few players in whole warframe care about that.

There are players that do care about their clan. They want to build an active clan and make a community out of it. This just gives them the option for it so that way they can have everyone contribute. Especially if it's a larger clan. There will be clans that don't have that. Just have to look a little harder.

This is how it is for most online games. People want to join for ingame benefits, not for community and I blame social media and smartphones for that. I mean I remember being on a vacation or taking a break and when I returned I had so much to catch up on with my WoW guildies back in the day because keeping in touch meant you had to play the game. Now everything is posted on social media and different apps making guilds very unappealing as a community and as a social platform. To try to keep guilds appealing the industry has gone for ingame benefits, which isn't helping at all because it just creates these invite spamming behemoth guilds where no one talks or plays together.. and that just reinforce the feeling that guilds are everything but social.

@Fallen_Echo There is a fix for the lack of purpose of clans (and alliances). Create more events like The Pacifism Defect, and incorporate clan vs clan ship battles in Railjacked. The purpose of a clan should incorporate some form of competitive content. The Kingpin system is also another avenue that needs to release. The reason clans barely interact or have an effect on the game is because people see it as toxic and elitist to allow that to happen.

*could. Personaly I do not care for the PvP aspect of warframe (or pvp in general) and it is not why I created a clan.

I made a clan, for the same reason there are clans/guilds/... in other games: Content that requires a group to clear it. That used to be raids. (Yes, they've become old fast, but that's because you can't just put out content - bugged content especially - and expect it to have longevity. Also you had to finish them in one session)

So I am not saying PvP should not be a part - but it should be a part of the mix. Not the sole reason(especially since that's not the case for the major part of the game!). Because that's gonna backfire to some extent. You already get the "benefit" of having clan-only pvp-servers.
What I think we need to see, is proper raids. Those that have multiple bosses, a clearance progression and require you to revisit.

I know that some clans try to build actual communities but someone not contributing to the clan is not essentially something i would be annoyed about.

After you researched everything the only thing left for contributions is making the clan look as you want it and i simply cant be angry at someone who doesnt want to throw in formas into a pair of benches what serve absolutely no function other than being fancy.

I think there is some potential for the dojo's to become more relevant again with upcoming updates. I actually have a couple of possibilities that could make things interesting.

1. Railjack docks/ Clan piracy missions. - With this the clan can build a dock in the dojo for clan members with a mission board that gives missions like blockade runner, escort missions, and pirate enemy ships for resources for the clan.

2. New war/ Sentient attack on dojo - With the Lotus going to the dark side as it were I imaging she could come up with a way to track down Tenno dojos and send sentients to attack which can have for example up to 8 members of a clan beating back the enemy.

3. Solar rail to sentient ship - Again floating around the new war sentient theme and borrowing from the Jordas Precept/ mutalist Alad v missions where you have to gather nav points from fallen enemies they can be gathered from sentients and inserted into the solar rail which sends you to their ship which moves around the solar chart and is only revealed when you have their new location.

There's are just thoughts but they can add a whole new dynamic to the game. Is it likely to happen no Would it be fun I'd say absolutely yes but that's just me.

These sounds fun but it breaks if its a clan only and not a "throught a clan" type of mission.

To revitalize clans we need to make them appear as social places and not mandatory necessities. I suggest that all these missions would be avaible at the starchart starting at random clan buildings where you gear up and load into the mission. No need to be actual member of the said clan because you are there to help out only.

Also something to expand that list:

Clan invasions: Random clan dojos are choosed every second day to be hosting invasion alerts. The story would state that someone with an infection entered, a corpus tracker drone found it or a grineer scouting party raided them and now its up to us to cleanse that dojo from the enemies. Everybody could join and it would be great to advertise clans too.
