To PC player who already own Gauss

I'm on console and still waiting for Gauss. From what I read on the wiki, Gauss seems to be an improved Volt. Am I correct? Does Gauss require a different play style?

Hes fast like Volt but I think thats where the similarities end.

They have literally nothing in common except being fast. One is a long range team-defender that can paralyze while the other is a short-range knock-down loner that can freeze, burn and explode. Both should be frail but are relatively bulky instead.

Gauss is basically a land Zephyr. He has more in common with her than with volt.

 

Volt is more a team buffer or AoE damage frame, depending on how you build him.

You are wrong. Gauss does not have a shield that increases damage by 50% and crit by 200%, volt does. Gauss does not have a nuke paralyzing ability, volt does. they are different frames with different abilities.

Harrow has the most similar gameplay loop to Gauss: They both provide strong selfbuffs, they both need some managing of your abilities to keep everything running, and they both have some crowd control.

The difference is that Harrow provides a lot more support to the team while Gauss is obviously much faster and instead of buffing the team his CC abilities do damage.

Other than the speed, they are very different frames. 

Volt is more a buff frame that has CC and damage potential. 

Gauss is a weapon specialist with some tanking potential and has very small CC capability.
