A theory about the "betrayers" comment is the following: Corpus, being very interested in salvaging technology from the Old War as much as profit, they see the Orokins as some kind of Gods due to their unmatched technological advancement. "The Corpus scavenge the outer systems, greedy for the Old War salvage. Their most sought after of all - the Tenno and their WARFRAME armor." There's a possibility that the "sentients" that fought the Orokin in the past, during the Old War, were the Tenno. If this is true, putting together with the idea that Corpus worship the Orokin, the Tenno are "betrayers" of their Gods.
