SECURATYYY
Waypoint the ground, companion holds that position down. Waypoint an enemy, companion attacks that enemy. Requires no extra buttons, which is good as controller real estate is a bit limited. Companion AI is pretty terrible so this may help.
16Bitman
Wouldn't this lead to a lot of waypoints being spammed everywhere in coop games? Here's my idea for a mod I thought up, after my chesa kubrow strongly prefered chasing shield drones over desecrating secret lab enemies: "Tight Leash" Companion no longer attacks enemies and stays within 5m of its mastery at all times. Reitrix
Does holding the waypoint key have a function? I can't recall one. So perhaps holding the waypoint button brings up a Gear Wheel type menu with pet and sentinel commands in it?
(PSN)robotwars7
suppose it wouldn't hurt, but until more companions are capable of doing real damage to higher level enemeis, an attack option seems like a waste of time IMO. it just means your pet will rush to their death on your command, rather than when they feel like it. (PSN)Lollybomb
Pet commands would be nice, but tying them to waypoints destroys the function of waypoints. You would no longer be able to indicate things to your team, or set a quick reminder without also commanding your pet to do something you probably don't care to do.
