Try Phahd scaffold. It is considered a melee for many other effects. Plus it is the best Amp in the game right now.

There's also Corufell, which shoots on heavy attack, and Verdilac, which shoots on the block + attack combo

I was thinking more something that didn't go in the melee slot, I thought melee companions would count but seems like they don't, or maybe something like spears which are thrown, seconcddary primary slot or even warframe ability that may count towards melee mods and arcanes

Only things that go in the melee slot count as melee,  or which replace the melee slot like melee exalted weapons and Graduda's talons.   Melee companions count as companions,  and are only affected by their own mods or things that specifically affect companions.

Not necessarily, no.

The nerfed secondary catchmoon may as well be a melee weapon, and it's still kinda scary with the right build with meaty slash procs.

Though the Incarnon Furis becomes a thicc lightsaber which is both hilarious and utterly horrifying considering how much damage that stubby laser the size of a smart car can produce.

There's also the Spearguns that can be tossed to various degrees too, but your mileage will vary depending on which effects you want if any at all.

Otherwise, the hybrid ranged melee weapons are exclusive to the melee category, minus a few outlier guns with terrible range that force them to compete with melee dps.

shame I was hoping I could somehow trigger Arcane Reaper without having to actually melee, via companion or some other means, guess i will just have to gunblade

Nepheri shoots fireballs as well. Zenistar heavy attack fires a disc of AoE.

There is also Exodia Contagion which is a projectile that scales as melee.
