What's With The Insane Credit Tax for Arcane Mods?

Hi All

I'm not sure how long this has been in-game, but I noticed that trying to trade certain Arcanes costs up to 1Mil Cred to 2Mil Creds (Last time I checked it was only 1Mil Creds) When did this change? 

Edit: While I am not a stranger to credit farming, I've never been the type of player that needed to spend that many Credits to begin with, so only having about Half of 1mil Credits is all I've had as of late and it's been so long since I've done Credit farming, I do not know what the best place is to farm Creds, since no one does Index these days.

Are you forgetting that the larger arcanes are stacks of 21 compared to what they were before?

Anyways Index is still the place to go, the bot teammates are terrible but you don't necessarily need a group for 1-2 rounds at a time of mid risk.

Benefit of the doubt but OP could actually be referring to Archon mods, not arcanes.

Archon mods have the same 1M credit tax as primed mods, legendary arcanes have a 100K trade tax per, and require 21 for rank 5, resulting in a 2.1M tax.

Yes, it seems I am, I forgot this was a thing now, explains a lot then.

Nothing is more embarrassing than doing a trade only to find out your Credits are low, even if I do farm the Creds, once I buy the Set, I'll be at Zero Creds, or very close to it. I'm not sure how this is supposed to be New Player Friendly, but that's just me I guess.

Yes, Index was my first choice, but I've never seen people play Index lately in the past, it might have changed now, since Crossplay. but I won't know until I jump in

I don't think Rank 5 Arcanes are intended to be a thing for new players.

That is a very good point. In the end, I ended up buying the Set I needed (Reaper, if anyone wonders), and got it cheap for Plat, that isn't the issue, but the Tax, at least IMO, needs to be heavily reduced.

Ture, but when a player gets to that stage, they are not really swimming in Credits, due to Umbra Mods and Primed Mods, etc.
