kscott190
Why this game is suppose to be about ninjas but there's hardy any ninjas stuff in it? Why we are far off into the future but still guns with bullets andmetal melee weapons, should we have laser/photons guns and lightsaber like swords? misoru2012
DE has never said this is the 'future'. Plus, we do have laser guns (flux rifle, dera, supra, etc.)

Fo0otsteps
A ninja (忍者) or shinobi (忍び) was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration and assassination and open combat in certain situations. Their covert methods of waging war contrasted the ninja with the samurai, who observed strict rules about honor and combat. What exactly is not ninja? edit: fixed black text edit №51: actually fixed black text Edited June 19, 2014 by Fo0otsteps

Just wait for the lore update, up until that, things won't necessarily make sense.

MDRLOz
You are right! We need more feudal Japan levels on earth where we dress up in black cloth at night but during the day have to hide from the authorities by pretending to be simple farmers. We are space ninjas in the future. No one really knows what a futuristic ninja will be because we don't really even have modern ninjas.
misoru2012
Doesn't that key he has give him immortality or something? My understanding is that the Janus Key reattached his bisected body, as that's how he dies on Mercury. But again, just got to wait for the lore update. The first 'mission', or what ever DE decided to call their story driven component, will focus on Vor, so we'll know soon enough.

VKhaun
It's not about ancient Japanese ninjas, it's about futuristic stylized space ninjas. If ninjas in ancient Japan had been able to get their hands on assault rifles, they would not have bothered to bring swords. We do have lasers and photon guns and lightsaber-like swords... Why we are far off into the future but still guns with bullets andmetal melee weapons, should we have laser/photons guns and lightsaber like swords? We infiltrate enemy bases, we kill people, we use a variety of weapons, we do parkour, and we have the option to use stealth. I don't see what's so lacking in the ninja-style of things. It is in a different time period. We're very much ninjas entering the enemy facility, we may not be stealthy throughout the attack but we don't have to be. Other than that, I can't imagine what you're complaining about. Actually we do have laser weapons and whatnot. Have you never fought a Corpus... ever? All their weapons are laser based. And the fact they don't explicitly say that they are lasers in the title, the sentinels have the Laser Rifle. Also we don't have lightsabers because they're silly. mushypancake
Yes, well while we're at it about ninjas are not being ninjas and what not, you should question why are we shooting the crypod to save the crypod in def missions? problem?

CY13ERPUNK
snake eyes is actually a pretty great example of the kind of ideas that warframe pulled from fer shur additionally ppl need to stop spouting non-sense like "DE never said Warframe was in the future", wrong, yes they have Warframe takes place far in the future, thousands or 10's of thousands of years in the future, the Orokin were certainly humans in-some form or another, just like the tenno are, but they are so far advanced that they don't resemble modern humans except maybe in some superficial physical appearances the grineer look less so, becuz they are suffering from decades/centuries of degradation in their cloning processes, the corpus obviously have more sexual reproduction and have less cyborg-like tendencies, even though they are fans of robotic proxies bottom line the tenno resemble ronin/mercs much more than "ninjas" DE chose the "ninja" moniker cuz they thought it sounded cool, and didn't think-through the ramifications of their choice in marketing terminology, now they have a chunk of their playerbase asking why the game has virtually zero stealth aspects, DE shot themselves in the foot and it's their problem to fix
