TENNO MENTORING PROGRAM:
PLEASE REFER TO OPEN SLOTS FOR AVAILABILITY

I'd like to wish all Mentors good luck in their endeavors to help new players. If any of you become GoTL then you have my full backing. If possible, try advertising a bit to get some new players attention. Remember, we have been doing this before GoTL went live so stay proud of that fact that you've been helping before the actual "help" arrived

Note: To all my mentors, if you've been contacted by a new player i want to be informed so i may mark you as Unavailable.

Note: To my mentors, if you feel you no longer wish to partake in my program, then notify me. It pains me to see you go but your wishes will be respected.
 
Note: To my mentors, i'd like your timezones to put next to your name so everyone can find someone in their timezone. please use this site. just tell me your timezone that's on here. like mine is PDT UTC-7

To all would be mentors: i will monitor if you are active on the forums since this it's a big factor in this program. IF the last time you've logged on was weeks ago, you will be removed!
If you are expecting to be gone for a long period of time, notify me ahead of time and let me know the estimated time of return so that i do not remove you from my list of mentors

Objectives:

 

  • Seek out and aid any new tenno who may need it.
  • Set the example for the younger generation
  • Maintain a positive relation with the other mentors and pupils

Requirements to be a mentor:

 

  • Have been a member for at least a year (minus XB1 players)
  • Active forum user
  • Don't be toxic
  • Be willing to help in any way you can

Considering this is what I do and what I have set up my clan for, I'm willing to mark myself as available. I don't say a lot on the forums, but I generally check them everyday. Likewise I log onto warframe about everyday.

 

If I am not available, I am helping clan members in a different game, I'm in the garden, I'm volunteering elsewhere, or I am at the doctors. None of those absences generally last more than 3 days.

 

I am free to help with advice, missions in general, but unless it's something important I do not cheese. ie, derelict defense isn't hard per se... but when I've gone to wave 30 17 times recently, I'll just vauban it up. So if we are searching for parts, easy mode is.....circumstantial.

I don't know how to do this.  Is there anyway I can see if a mentor is online other than adding them as a friend?  Or if any of the mentors here don't mind me adding you guys as a friend first so it make it easier?  My name is easily recognizable I would hope. 

when you click on their name in the original post, you can see if they are currently online on the forums. I frequently make sure that all my mentors are active with a 2 week grace period. so it's better if you try catching them on the forums first.

I thought trainees were supposed to pick from the list then pm us. Whether here on the Forum or to our Screen name/ Gamertag. Ingame wont always work.

Simply, pm a mentor on here, and then pm a mentor in-game if you want to add a mentor as a friend. That seems to be easiest.

Perhaps you can add these 'quick pm' links?

For example, this is mine.

There really should be something. Like even loading screen tips, at the bottom of the screen, they could have actual tips, but one could be something like "Need help? Check the forums!"

The current system is as such:

 

*new player reads OP*

*clicks on available mentor*

*PM's mentor*'

*success*

 

having everything go through me makes the process much longer than it should be. I might need to get a little instructional photo on how to PM on the forums for some of the new players if that's your concern 

 

Cool understood so I'll wait for them to contact me either here in forums or through in game right? awesome.

I'm a ps4 player, used to play a little bit on PC. I know the basics, and that's about it. Haven't played in over a year and am just coming back due to an utter disappointment with destiny. Looking for a mentor if one is available, any help would be greatly appreciated. I should be online about an hour from posting this If that's a concern.

Also, I have a suggestion. If it's not too much work I think mentors should have what they're offering on their profile or in the OP. Some mentors might not have experience with weapon builds, frame builds, specific mechanics, etc. I feel that mentors should advertise what they're most comfortable in offering advice on.

 

Here are my qualifications (so people can know what kind of mentor I am and what I offer).

 

I've been playing for about two years. I have experience with weapon and warframe builds. I know where you can farm for resources, affinity, void keys efficiently. I have experience with weapon mechanics and how to get the most out of your weapon. I can use a voice chat service such as curse/skype (I prefer curse) to explain things that I cant find the words for. I'm on warframe usually from 12-6 EST but it varies on what I'm currently doing.

Just sent you a PM @LordOfScrugging. I would be honored to be a mentor on PS4. I've been playing since February 2013, been in a variety of clans, have every frame, leveled all weapons except a few archwing ones, participated in all but one tactical alert and event since I started. I also play a bit on PC as well as watch dev streams in order to learn about upcoming changes and updates.

 

Helping newish players is one of my favorite things to do in Warframe, and I would relish the opportunity to do so in a more official capacity. Please let me know if you require any more information from or about me.

 

I am also willing to help out mentoring on PC, but, as I have played the most on PS4, I'm still learning all the stuff post U15.16.

Agreed to this basically almost the same expertise as this guy. I'm a weapon and warframe collector have about 200+ weapons most forma'd and all frames in my collections because of that I have expertise in the field of weapon advice and maximization for weapons and warframes I'm also knowledgeable about efficient farming methods for xp, credits, cores and resources and generally faster progression and strategy if the new player needs advice in any of these then I'm ready to help.
