Muneka

Pronounced "Myoo-Nee-ka"

Mu- from mutation, as it is part cat, part reptile? (I didn't watch the devstream but I think someone said that in a summary...)
Neka, from Neko, from the Japenese for Cat.

Mu is also the Japenese for "Not" or "Without" so it translates to "Not cat."
Because it's not a cat.

EDIT:
Also, "Mew" is the sound kitties make so, following Pokemon logic, we should name our Orokitties with the sound "Mew/Mu" in their name :p

Dog - Drahk

Cat - ?

---

the above logic wouldn't work in my mind because Canine which refers to dogs starts with a C. The name should start with a F for feline.

the names beginning with F that I have seen so far do not fit very well due to the fact that it sounds too similar to Feline or Feral.

My suggestions would be based on the above information.

That is all I can think of.

Good stuff right here. I like this logic.

Yeah, it was just the first sound that came to my mind when I saw it.

So I made up some bullS#&$ and it actually worked out well.

Also, you want to name your Muneka after a car racing game?

Here we have a thread that can be used to collect name ideas for the Catbrow.

Concept Art & Assets:

Brainstorm away, Tenno! Keep in mind we are just looking for ideas - we may end up settling on something internally, but we want to see what you can come up with!

So, if a Dog is called Kubrow derived from the word "eyebrow".
Then, a Cat should be called Kutache derived from the word "mustacheor Kuker derived from the word "whisker".

Problem solved. :)

I like the idea of a name that sounds a little whispery. Low syllabic count is a plus, as it allows for easy memorization.

It also follows a sort of opposite word structure to Kubrow, indicating its distinction:

Koo Broh

Ohh Rid

Food for thought for future word-crafters:

Create words that have meaning both when spoken and read.

Try to evoke a fantasy or mental image with the word.

Think carefully about possible meanings and similarities.

Try to keep it concise, as the catchiness of a word depends quite a lot upon its ease of memorization and low letter count. Nothing too convoluted.
