Is Primed Ammo Mutation Even Worth It?

I use mostly the Boltor prime and it never rums out of ammo even with the normal ammo mutation. Is this worth it, at all? Even for guns like the prisma grakata?

Are you speaking strictly about Prime Rifle Ammo Mutation? 

 

Because on some secondary weapons such as Dex Furis, regular Pistol Ammo Mutation won't last you forever, and I think Primed Pistol Ammo Mutation is very handy on them.

If you don't find you need anything more than the regular mod, I wouldn't suggest the primed one. Unless you have another gun that would require it or needs more juice than the regular mod.

no, unless you have weapons that chew through ammo, like the soma/soma p, glaxion, and amprex

I use it on quite a few weapons.  Specifically ones with a fat clip/magazine like Soma P, Ignis, etc. that I can pair together with a fire rate mod.  Fire rate is a very strong and slightly underrated source of both DPS and status chance.

u dont need ammo mutation really on any wepon i use synoid gammeacor with max fire rate and never run out of ammo.......

In my opinion, as a general rule of thumb I'd say primed ammo mutation is definitely worth it on anything that hits a fire rate of 20+.

It's pure gold for pistols. Even the regular version is hardly enough to substain the synoid gammacor (dps beast)

Wouldn't know a single primary where you need it? DE allways seems to have something in mind releasing these soooo i'd still pick it up... you might need it sooner then you think.

Yeah, you really do need ammo mutation on hungry weapons in longer T4 stuff (above 20 mins/20 waves), because you have to pour so much lead into things to kill them. If you have the drain capacity the prime is obviously going to be best. 

 

Well, not "need" exactly, I suppose, but it does make life a bit easier and it's worth sacrificing a little bit of dps when the sheer amount you have to fire is going to be huge anyway.

 

With anything below T4 20 mins/20 waves ammo mutation isn't necessary though.
