(PSN)robotwars7 Posted January 6, 2017 Share Posted January 6, 2017 technically Excalibur is sort of our Samurai, as his Passive affects Nikanas as well as regular Swords and Dual swords. I get what you mean though, an armoured, sword centric damage dealer who can offer a bit of both damage dealing and tanking would be pretty nice. that said, it would still be just a theme. in terms of the way we fight we are much closer to that of Ninjas, with a focus on isolated Covert operations, rather than all out warfare; the Orokin had the Dax for that. None of those archetypes fit ACTUAL ninja criteria..... unless Naruto is the new standard for what we expect in a ninja. I mean c'mon......a magnetic ninja? Really bruh? More about the way we carry out our activities. Ninjas are the personification of stealth/espionage tactics. While we may move like depictions of folklore ninjas, we: facetank missiles and kill entire battalions in broad daylight. Hell there's a a frame named RHINO for Godsake. His mere existence claiming to be in any form a ninja is pretty damn hilarious honestly (especially when you see dudes enter sortie spy missions with him.....pure gold right there) and quite a unique take on the tradition. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this. After all, we are space magician super children with an A.I. for a mom. Who of which aids in our genocidal tendencies to wipe entire sectors from outposts throughout the solar system. Trying to make since of anything in this game is probably somewhat impossible lol. Well alot of samurai were ninja because ninjustu was an art not a class like the bushin. The practice of ninjustu was more of a specialist aspect and therefore the bushin did most of the large scale battles. This is paralleled in warframe with Dax doing all of the major fighting. You could say that he was a ninja who became a samurai at the beginning of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
