Need help with Weapons

I just got mastery rank 6 and have a few warframes at level 30. 

I am currently in Jupiter and Europa, but I am having trouble with some mobs.  I just don't feel I do enough damage.  The Shield Chickens take forever to kill and I usually end up dying a few times trying to take them out.

What weapons, with what mod loadouts should I be using at this point?

Shield Chickens ?!

The weapon you use might not be a problem but the mod combination might be - you should adapt your dmg type to the enemy.

Maybe he's referring to the Bursa. That thing is quite the ordeal for a new player.

Kentucky Fried Shield Chicken , maybe try Amprex with crit+Magnetic against Moas or crit+Corrosive against Bursas.

Yes, the Bursas.  I will try that.  

As for weapons, what should I be using at this point of the game and what mods are best for those weapons?

As was said before, Mods make or break the weapon, though FWIW, some MR6-or-below ones I might recommend:

To start with, make sure your base damage Mods (Serration, Hornet Strike etc) are at Rank 10.
Many Primaries can take the accuracy hit from Heavy Caliber, for basically a second Serration's effect.

Multishot (Split Chamber & co) is something you want on pretty much every gun,
Secondaries have a second one (Lethal Torrent) which also gives +60% Fire Rate for a further DPS increase.

For crit guns, you'd now want to add the basic (or if possible, Primed) +Crit Chance and +Crit Damage Mods.

Then of course there's elemental damage, if you don't care for having multiple configs for the different Factions,
Corrosive (+ maybe Cold) is the best all-round element, not least with even Corpus getting more and more Armor'd up.

Which elements to use against which Faction on which weapons with what kind of build can get a little expansive, so ...
I'll leave a more detailed presentation of that to someone else :P

Shield chickens  You gotta shoot them dudes in the back (the console bit) to do decent damage to them. And don't stand still.

I wouldn't gauge your damage output by them chickens though. They're tough. If you're killing the mobs easily enough then you're doing fine.

Just get your pure damage mods (damage, multishot) ranked up as much as you can.
