Ghoul Purge - The grind for journals is absrud

Hello and thanks for taking a look at my thread.

First of all, yes, I do appreciate the Ghoul Purge bounties. They're more dynamic than usual and it's a nice breath of fresh air. Yet, the grind for the Encrypted Journal Fragments is, in my opinion, plain absurd in essence.

Why? Because these fragments are “just” lore/promotional content. They're supposed to build up hype for Khora, right? So is there a valid a reason to lock them behind such a grind‑wall? Running the same handful a mission to roll the RNG dice three time to possibly obtain one of the 52 pieces is not fun nor rewarding (but that bounties‑farming in general).

A simple solution would have been to move these Journals to tier 1 reward, or give them to Nakak at 500/1000+ Ostron‑rep' piece — making the unsuccessful run at least somewhat rewarding, or perhaps Codex‑sharing with clan‑mate.

Yes, you may say “Ask the other players”, “Go to the wiki, go to Youtube” or more generally “No need to do that because someone else did it”. Then, it does not feel rewarding to learn the lore and kinda frustrating to see a half‑baked Codex if I give up. Yes, feel is the word here, it's just my perception on the matter.

TL;DR I find greatly annoying to rely on the RNG just to access promotional content; do you run a marathon to hope to a chance to watch 15sec of a trailer?

Thank you for your time, and tell me what is your view on that as well. I'll pray the RNG to smile upon thee.

They are to hype Khora?  I haven't completed any or accessed the hidden messages I assume they'll carry but so far it's looked like it's all Grineer lore, fleshing out the backstory of ghoul creation.

I'm a real fan of Warframe lore, but I think I will give up because of this grind.

There is a bunch of possibly super intersting things to learn, such as first mention of Dr Tegus outside of Vay Hek quote, but at this point, it be same for me if I wait and see what people found on internet...

Yup, they are. The hidden messages are from a rogue Corpus scientist, the full title being “Sigor Savah, morphology specialist”. The one Konzu mention from time to time when selecting a Ghoul Purge bounty.

The “worst” is it is interesting  and well narrated from what I've gathered so far :/

Agreed... the lore is main pull for me, why to run the Ghoul missions, and out of so many missions, I got one. Now, I don't mind put an effort into something I want, but this does seem a weeee bit too much. Might need to look into this, but given DE is basically closed until the end of Dec, we may be out of luck on this.

From 2 ghoul bounties, I usually get 1 journal which is pretty crappy if I may say....the backstory behind this is that konzu knew the corpus scientist who wrote these journals, and if we do the ghoul bounties for him he’ll share it with us 

 

I hope that this stupid grind is for the sake of this rather silly plot and won’t reoccur I’m future things like that....lore is free! 

 

A better solution is to give all the lore once we as a community reach 100% on the ghoul bounties, it’ll even make more sense from his excuse

I agree. This feels really wrong. I've dealt with RNG based lore before with the kuria statues but these journals are a lot more annoying because they are also on a timer, which gives you this run-on feeling about the ghoul bounties. hurry, hurry! do more to get the rest of the pages or lose them all until an undetermined time in the future when a similar event might occur.

Did a few of these at release and before the hotfix. Got lores at a pretty good rate in those. Since the hotfix? Not ONE lore from a Ghoul bounty.

NOT ONE.

I've been doing them in between farming acolytes and have completed far far more now than I did pre-hotfix. It is now absurd. End of.

I agree on both points.  I love bounties, I love the new bounties and ghouls.  And the journal frags should be common.  I'm tired of getting the relics and hunter mods.

On my very first run with the lowest of both Ghoul Purge Bounties i got both weapon Blueprints (one as reward, one from an enemydrop) and 2x Slicing Feathers.

Okay i thought, all Rewards done in one run (because i own hundreds of these hunter mods allready) that was FAST.

 

But wait, Codex Fragments ... mhh? Whats that all about ... oh nice ... lore for Khora, Ghouls and so on. Great !!!

But after 300+ runs now to get these 52x silver Rewards i dont want anymore. If i have to see another Hunter Mod as a reward i throw the PC out of the Window.

I've only gotten 2 maybe 3 fragments so far, all of them for different entries. And I'm completely burned out... I'd have gladly traded the hundreds of Quartakk and Stubba BP's I had accrued if there was a way to do that, but unfortunately all they're good for is selling for credits.
