Semi-Automatic Rifles

Currently I have had a great amount of fun playing with semi-automatic rifles, yet I am now looking for another to fuel my needs. So far, the Grinlok has proved to be exactly what I am looking for, however a Grinlok Wraith/Prime doesn't seem to be coming any time soon sadly. Can anyone recommend any other good semi-auto rifles, like the Grinlok and Sybaris (if there are any)?

Latron is kinda semi-automatic I guess... It's not too bad. If you want critical, go for wraith and for status go prime.

The Latrons, they're pretty much DMRs / Battle Rifles.

And Grinlok is a grineer weapon, grineer weapons can't be primed.

Argonak has semi-auto mode

Quartakk is basically a semi-auto

Attica is auto cross-bow, but it fires so slow you might as well treat it as semi-auto

Tenora has charge semi-auto

Zenith has semi-auto mode with infinite punch through

Stradavar and Hind have semi-auto mode but not very good.

the Latron family of rifles would be your best bet, and several other automatic rifles like Stradavar, Argonak and Hind also have Semi-Auto functions. when it comes to dedicated Semi-Auto, Latron has good capacity and decent damage, quick follow-up shots and pinpoint accuracy, everything you want and need in a semi-automatic rifle. even if you don't have the Wraith or Prime versions, the vanilla Latron is still pretty good.

The hind also has the semi-auto on the alt fire instead of being able to switch between modes like the Stradavar/Argonak which is a pain to use.

 

If MR isn't a problem and you are in a Clan, Argonak is the easiest to obtain and it's a solid gun. Burst DPS is as high as the Latron Prime (Latron Wraith has the highest Burst DPS out of all the simple Semi-auto rifles), has one of the best Sustained DPS out of all the simple semi-auto rifles due to it's rather big clip (sustained DPS accounts with clip size and reload times which are important factors if there's many enemies present and you can't kill them in a clip), a gimmick that can help seeing enemies a little better (sadly the outline isn't any bright and most of the time enemies are easy to see anyway), and a full auto mode in case you need to clear many weak enemies very fast, need to deal status procs or quickly dispose of a nullifier bubble.

The gun has low puncture but higher impact and slash, semi auto rifles usually aren't the best things at dealing status (even with very high status usually they still are subpar unless they have a gimmick) so the gun shines against Corpus or Infest, but can lag a bit behind when the enemies are armoured like the Grineer, still it's a solid gun and can reach rather high status (that allows it to compete with the Prime and Wraith variants of the Latron) despite not being a Wraith variant.

Overall it's like an upgraded Stradavar, vastly superior gun that uses the same concept.

 

Latron Prime is currently vaulted so it's harder to get, Latron Wraith has it's parts as rewards from invasions but due to the random nature of the invasions rewards and usually the timing it might prove hard to obtain, though both can have their parts traded if you want to go through the plat route (not sure if the Latron Prime will be unvaulted temporarily soon though, perhaps with Frost Prime or something, I think it was him that brought it back before). Both are solid guns, Prime has slightly higher status while Wraith has higher crit (which gives it higher burst damage), in late game they need to reload a lot though which makes their sustained DPS down a little which can be a bit of a pain at higher level content when you have many enemies surrounding you.

Grinlok is a lever action rifle,

if you like that you might want to try out the Sybaris (tenno lab research) 

and Marelok (a lever action pistol that has higher damage than Grinlok)

 

That aside, if you are looking for semi-automatic rifles

Latron is a MR0 market blueprint, that is basically good if you have nothing better than a MK1 braton
without much mods to throw into a rifle. Other than that it is pretty weak and kind of hard to save with mods.

Latron Wraith has the same crit chance as Sybaris, that makes it highest in the Latron Family,
you can farm it's part from invasion rewards.

Latron Prime is kind of higher base damage, but the crit chance is lower
Maybe it was introduced way back, and hence the stats is more like a upgrade to the original Latron, 
but the Latron Wraith is on par or even side-grade to the prime.

Stradavar, If you are MR8, and yet to get your hands on, or waiting for the Latron Wraith, 
you might want to try this out, it is kind of like you have a Latron Wraith on semi auto and Latron Prime on full auto, 

No joke, if you wish to see how the crit chance is on the Latron Prime use the stradavar on full auto with a Point strike, 
it will be 37.5% and you get to have a feel of it without investing on a Latron Prime.

The semi auto is 50% crit chance, with point strike, that is relatively close to the 62.5% of a Latron Wraith

Sybaris is pretty satisfying to use (the spund, animation, and a good damage output)

We'll also be getting dexsybaris in around march 20ish.

If you're looking for a semi-auto rifle as opposed to a burst-fire, there are a fair number of admittedly mediocre options. The best of these by a wide margin are the Latron Wraith, the Latron Prime, and the Quartakk.

If you want another burst-fire rifle like the Sybaris, there are a few more good options, like the Dex Sybaris, Sybaris Prime, Burston Prime, Harpak, Paracyst, and Hema. Those last three are projectile weapons rather than hitscan, though.

Argonak & Sybaris are quite beautiful and really good weapons! And I almost forget about Grinlok, which is a fine weapon too! >:3
