It burnsss usss! 2- Some grey text is hard to read. So I did a thing! There are a lot of text elements that get lost in the background, I simply added a background color to make them stand out. They definitely need some love! I did this in FF by inspecting the styles, so there were a couple of things I couldn't change. And this is an example of toned down red, in case it's absolutely necessary to keep it. Notice how your eyeballs are stabbed a bit less. This is a prime example of using a strong colour and returning gaudy results. ...I just switched back to the old colors. This is now the 'default' theme. Even if this is an option (a mighty handy option, of course), new players will be put off by this. I know I would've lost a lot of interest just looking at the gaudy theme. Though some people do prefer the older theme's colors and other still like the red letters we have now. I'm certain DE will have a few more options coming soon to customize our forum experience. Apart from the blue, notice the greys are darker :D I know some people would like the red, and if it's completely necessary to keep it reddish I think something like #9E0000 could work.
