A Small Suggestion With A Picture (Yes, It's About The Red)

Hey, I actually like the new forum looks except for a couple of things:

1- The red. It burnsss usss!

2- Some grey text is hard to read.

So I did a thing!

There are a lot of text elements that get lost in the background, I simply added a background color to make them stand out. They definitely need some love!

I did this in FF by inspecting the styles, so there were a couple of things I couldn't change.

And this is an example of toned down red, in case it's absolutely necessary to keep it. Notice how your eyeballs are stabbed a bit less.

No offense intended to whoever made the new design!

I think the blue and green/blue goes a lot better with the background, and it doesn't murder my eyes :D

The red is ugly.

This is a prime example of using a strong colour and returning gaudy results.

...I just switched back to the old colors.

This is now the 'default' theme.

Even if this is an option (a mighty handy option, of course), new players will be put off by this.

I know I would've lost a lot of interest just looking at the gaudy theme.

I find the Blues and Greens to be a lot less harsh on my eyes.

Though some people do prefer the older theme's colors and other still like the red letters we have now. I'm certain DE will have a few more options coming soon to customize our forum experience.

I'd rather they do something about the default theme as opposed to allowing us to make it hurt less.

New players get put off by things like gaudy sites.
